The Metamorphosis
The Metamorphosis
Hardcover - English

The Metamorphosis is a novella by Franz Kafka that tells the story of Gregor Samsa, a traveling salesman who wakes up one morning to find himself transformed into a giant insect. The story follows Gregor's struggle to come to terms with his new form and the impact it has on his relationships with his family and society. As Gregor becomes increasingly isolated and unable to communicate with those around him, his family begins to view him as a burden and a source of shame. They lock him in his room and begin to neglect him, leading to his eventual death. The Metamorphosis is a powerful exploration of themes such as alienation, identity, and the human condition. Kafka's writing style is characterized by its surreal and dreamlike quality, which adds to the haunting and unsettling atmosphere of the story.Overall, The Metamorphosis is a thought-provoking and deeply affecting work of literature that continues to captivate readers to this day.Kafka's classic on family, fatherhood, salesmanship, wise men, and insects. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
