The Metamorphosis
The Metamorphosis
Hardcover - English

The Metamorphosis is a novella written by the renowned German-speaking author Franz Kafka. First published in 1915, the story follows the transformation of a man named Gregor Samsa into a giant insect. The story begins with Gregor waking up one morning to find himself transformed into a bug. Initially, he struggles to come to terms with his new form and his family's reaction to it. His family, who rely on him for financial support, are horrified by his transformation and begin to treat him as a burden. Gregor's metamorphosis leads to a breakdown in communication between him and his family, and ultimately, his isolation from society. The story is a poignant exploration of themes such as alienation, identity, and the human condition. Through Gregor's transformation, Kafka highlights the fragility of human existence and the struggle to maintain one's sense of self in the face of adversity. The Metamorphosis is a classic work of literature that continues to captivate readers with its powerful imagery and thought-provoking themes.Kafka's classic on family, fatherhood, salesmanship, wise men, and insects. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
