There, Huck is held captive, but manages to escape on a raft, and meets his friend, the black Jim, a runaway slave who flees seeking their freedom. The two embark on a dangerous escape, along the Mississippi River, and live many adventures together, until the surprising and unexpected end of the work, which are aided by the strong and adventurous Tom Sawyer.
