Lithuanian born anarchist Emma Goldman emmigrated to the United States at the age of sixteen. Emma Goldman (18691940) stands as a major figure in the history of American radicalism and feminism. An influential and well-known anarchist of her time, Goldman was an early advocate of free speech, birth control, women's rights, and union organization. To this day she remains one of the most recognizable figures in anarchist history.
