Orthodoxy
Orthodoxy
Paperback - English

Orthodoxy is a philosophical and theological work by the renowned British writer G.K. Chesterton. In this book, Chesterton presents his personal journey towards faith and his defense of traditional Christian beliefs against modernist and rationalist critiques. Through a series of essays, Chesterton explores various topics such as the nature of God, the problem of evil, the role of reason in religion, and the importance of tradition and authority in Christian doctrine. He also critiques the ideas of prominent thinkers like Nietzsche, Shaw, and H.G. Wells, and argues that their rejection of Christianity is based on a flawed understanding of the faith. Chesterton's writing is witty, insightful, and deeply personal, making Orthodoxy a classic of Christian literature that continues to inspire and challenge readers today. The real trouble with this world of ours is not that it is an unreasonable world, nor even that it is a reasonable one. The commonest kind of trouble is that it is nearly reasonable, but not quite. Life is not an illogicality; yet it is a trap for logicians. It looks just a little more mathematical and regular than it is; its exactitude is obvious, but its inexactitude is hidden; its wildness lies in wait. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
