This is the fifth edition of the Texas Legislative Law Handbook. It includes chapters on the legislative process, drafting, points of order, statutory interpretation, administrative law, redistricting, the state budget, and campaign finance law. This edition is updated with floor precedent from the 88th Session, as well as new sections on tax bills, corrective resolutions, and conferee instructions. It also has new information on enacting clauses, captions, and floor amendments. Finally, the appendix of the book has a drafting checklist, a bill-scrubbing checklist, a rule referencing list, and tables of the vote requirements in each chamber.
