Fermin Herrera, born in Durango, Mexico, has taught Nahuatl at California State University, Northridge since 1973. He has provided workshops and classes on the Nahuatl language and culture at institutions such as the University of California, Santa Barbara, the University of Kansas City, and the Comlejo Cultural Ollin-Yoliztli in Mexico City, among others. Herrera has also translated Nahuatl works for media productions such as the UPN television series "Legend" and Elizabeth Waldo's "Songs of the New World" (Waldo Productions). He currently lives in Oxnard, California.
