July 1816-Kendra Donovan could use a distraction. The FBI agent has been dealing with a serious case of cold feet after impulsively agreeing to marry Alec, the Marquis of Sutcliffe. And if that isn't enough, there is also the tantalizing possibility that maybe, just maybe she could return to her own timeline as the one-year anniversary of her shocking arrival in the early 19th century approaches.
When Reginald Lansing, the Earl of Craymore, is found mortally wounded on the Duke of Aldridge's land, Kendra gets the distraction that she's been looking for. At first glance, it appears as though the aristocrat is the victim of a
highwayman. After all, Lansing had been traveling with the Anahita Pink, a priceless pink diamond that can be traced to the lost treasure of King John, and has since vanished. However, some things aren't adding up, and Kendra begins to suspect that there's more to the crime than a simple robbery.
Certainly, Craymore's life proves to be complicated. He had his sister, Lady Evelyn, committed to a madhouse to prevent her from marrying a fortune hunter, and recently he'd been heard arguing with his radical cousin, who is next in line to inherit the title and Craymore fortune. Both could benefit from the earl's untimely death. On the other hand, anyone who managed to get their hands on the Anahita Pink would benefit.
No one knows better than Kendra that humanity's darker impulses can cause devastating ripples. And when the killer strikes again, Kendra realizes that her investigation is more than a puzzle, more than a distraction-it is a terrifying game of cat and mouse against a ruthless killer, who will stop at nothing to win.

England, 1541. An ailing Henry VIII reigns from a contested throne. In parallel story lines, The Tudor Prophecy follows two young women, Lady Alice Grantmire and Hester Vaughan, cousins who each suffer greatly from the King's unjust decrees. Lady Alice and her mother are evicted from their estate and take residence in a cottage where they earn a subsistence selling herbal remedies--until they are accused of witchcraft. After being molested by the King, Hester is summoned to her estranged father's home in Wales. There she becomes betrothed to a Welsh bard whose mentor has visions foretelling the ascendancy of Henry's second daughter, Elizabeth. When Hester encounters the eight-year-old Lady Elizabeth, the two forge a relationship whereby Hester can persuade the future queen to temper her own rule with mercy. This epic, literary tale--a Game of Thrones meets Little Women--is also for readers who loved the Wolf Hall trilogy by Booker-Prize winner Hilary Mantel.
A delightful middle-grade fantasy, set on the Isle of Skye and featuring eight full-page illustrations (including a map).
The Ban the Witches and Fairies (BW&F) Party has chased all the supernatural beings out of the Isle of Skye. Only Magaidh, a young witch, remains, hiding in a castle disguised as a cat. But she and the Queen of the Fairies have a plan to rescue the Fairy Flag, allowing the fairies and Magaidh to return to Skye. As Magaidh resumes her business, Spells, Inc., she thinks about getting revenge on the BW&F Party, but the Fairy Queen suggests that peace would be a better plan. While Magaidh considers which it will be, peace or revenge, her business allows her to help the people of Skye with love potions and spells to reverse the troublesome effects of fairy arrows. She and her two fairy friends, Sean and Iain, go on many adventures together, including rescuing a baby Welsh dragon; dealing with Big Blue Donald, a ghost; and befriending a baby water horse. In the process, Magaidh gets to know her father and finds out why she is different from her siblings, who force her to choose revenge!
This gentle, rollicking tale is steeped in the folklore and culture of the Isle of Skye and incorporates Gaelic names and phrases. A glossary at the beginning of the book (titled A Reader's Guide to the Magical World of Skye) provides a pronunciation guide for the non-English words. In addition to the fantasy elements, the novel is also about family. Magaidh discovers that she is only half-supernatural; she is surprised to learn that her birth father is not only a human, but a leader of the BW&F Party. Nonetheless, she seeks him out and hopes to establish a relationship with him; he is open to connecting with her, but they meet with resistance from his other children. The story is a lesson in tolerance and acceptance.

The Key, A Social Emotional Toolkit for Teens is a teaching tool for teenagers. Under the umbrella of emotional intelligence, The Key addresses various life skills and coping mechanisms to help teens better understand themselves and deal with the day to day pressures of school, peers and family. At every step there are self-enquiry exercises, explanations and 'things you can do'. Through self-awareness, writing therapy, Youtube and discussion, this book addresses a range of topics and themes we should have learnt as young people, but often didn't.
In psychological development, adolescence is the period of self-discovery and identity - discovering who they are as they make the sometimes difficult transition from childhood to adulthood. This is a vital time in their lives to learn life skills and coping strategies as they move forward to becoming young adults.
As a professional social worker, I have worked in the areas of homelessness, drug and alcohol and mental and emotional health across Australia, Romania, Spain, United Kingdom, Vietnam, India, Cambodia and Thailand, working with locals and international teenagers and adults. Working with teenagers I noticed they were often ill-equipped to self soothe and define what was wrong, exploding or withdrawing due to lack of coping skills. Working with adults from all over the world in holistic counselling I discovered that our issues often boiled down to one thing - we never learnt the skills to cope with daily stresses or major life crisis. The Key aims to address this gap and go back to basics to help us learn about ourselves and our place in the world in order to live a full and emotionally healthy life. This book is for everyone.
The Key, A Social Emotional Toolkit for Teens is both a book and a course. The book is thorough and offers Youtube videos to help with some of the more tricky topics such as anxiety, understanding negative thoughts and three different types of basic breathing and meditations. Any teenger or parent could read it without additional guidance. Teen counsellors and school counsellors can use it is a resource and schools or community groups can teach it as a course.
In 2017 and 2018 The Key was taught by the author as a 10 week curriculum in the top school in the State of Victoria, Australia. It is appropriate to be taught to 12-20 year olds. The author's aim is for every teenager in the world to have access to a set of skills that will help them navigate smoothly through life's journey and lead socially, emotionally and mentallly healthy lives.
The author is also available for additional support with individuals, group workshops or to teach the course.

Holden Davis has enough problems: mounting debt, a lifelong feud with his brother and his father's legacy to live up to. If he's honest with himself, he'll admit that hiring an assistant in the dead of night probably wasn't the smartest thing to do either.
But life gets more complex when Holden's funeral home has to process the bodies left behind by a serial killer. The bodies start to mount up, but the clues don't. Meanwhile, Holden finds himself falling in love with his beautiful but mysterious assistant, Eileen. Will forbidden love and a secret identity stop them from finding the killer?
The summer of 1959 promises to stretch slowly forward, with one exception. The looming deadline of entering the Saint John General Hospital school of nursing as a probationer student, interrupts the worry-free days with a nagging doubt. Is nursing the right choice?
