The full collection of conference talks from Pope Francis's appointed retreat master, Timothy Radcliffe, heard first during the historic October 2023 General Assembly of the Synod on Synodality.
The Synod on Synodality held in Rome in October 2023, gathered Catholics from all over the world to listen, pray, and reflect on a new way of being church. Dominican priest Timothy Radcliffe, the official retreat master and spiritual advisor for this assembly, was appointed by Pope Francis to deliver a series of retreat talks and meditations to the delegates during the assembly of the Synod on Synodality. Those talks are offered here, as well as Radcliffe's further reflections on our current challenges and where we could be headed as a church. He then provides a specific Dominican experience as an example of synodality-in-action.
In Listening Together, Radcliffe's words not only set the spirit for the historic synod gathering, but now, in written form, they open the possibility for individuals or groups to read and continue to reflect on this synodal journey we all share. Listening Together serves as a powerful reminder of the themes of enduring relevance included in Radcliffe's retreat talks and synod meditations. In entertaining and engaging prose, Radcliffe's reflections encourage readers to think about conflicting hopes; different visions of the church as home; the need for unity; friendship; and above all, the importance of listening, discernment, and mission as a means for this synodal journey to continue to succeed. In these pages, Radcliffe offers a spirituality of listening that can take us forward together on a journey of discovery and communion.

Jerusalem Bible--Study Bible
New Edition
Totally Revised
Biblical and Archaeological School of Jerusalem
Introducing the fifth edition of the new Spanish edition of the Jerusalem Bible. It has remained faithful to the traditional allegiance to the original texts of Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, and the transmission of introductions and notes of the French version.
Features of this fifth edition include:
- This new edition includes 30% more footnotes than the previous edition.
- The same team of specialists has edited this fifth edition, maintaining the core values of their translations of the original languages: unity within the various biblical books of the Old and New Testament, reflection of the rhythm of the lyrical poetry in the Hebrew verses and special attention to parallels, especially those found in the Synoptic Gospels.
- We reviewed all the books of the Old and New Testaments on behalf of the general coordinator Victor Morla: with translation of the Hebrew clich s to accommodate the Spanish language, improving the harmonization of the texts and refined style.
- Joaqu n Gonz lez Echegaray has updated the historical, geographical and archeological notes and has also introduced some new ones.
- We have incorporated the translation of some changes made to the notes of the last French edition of the Jerusalem Bible: some have been removed as obsolete, while others have incorporated a cultural, historical and geographical character.
This new edition benefits from the studies and research of Biblical and Archaeological School of Jerusalem and the exegetes who form the new team of translators of the Jerusalem Bible in Spanish, staying true to the principles of previous editions while representing a complete updating of biblical scholarship in recent years.
In his classic Second Book of Dialogues, Pope Gregory the Great lionizes Saint Benedict as hero and casts him predominantly in the role of miracle worker. Yet in his Rule, Benedict comes across more as a practical community organizer and premier spiritual father. In this volume, Terrence Kardong offers a fresh take on Gregory the Great's classic. He alternates between translated sections of the Diablo's and his own commentary. Crisp and direct, and infused with his wry and ever-present sense of humor, Kardong's writings sure to build up the spiritual life of readers and, equally important, to make them love St. Benedict.
