For millennia all attempts to end violent war by negotiated or imposed peace have brought only brief respite. On the premise that war is endemic to the human disposition, Mind War proposes to supersede its killing and destruction with a more civilized focus on the mind. The persons and properly of humans are replaced as targets by the divisive situations and perceptions. These are then analyzed and adjusted to a practical consensus. MW extends to sociopolitical applications generally, identifying and refining previously vague or unknown mental processes into a new science of thought architecture a standard of rationality and precision in human affairs in which the experience and exercise of thought are finally, fully mature.
One man, one canoe, five solo journeys to five remote wilderness regions in Western Ontario, Canada.
Can you imagine being retired (over 60), healthy and determined to research and travel alone for three weeks or longer on numerous wilderness trips into areas that you know little about? Can you imagine not being in verbal or social media contact with anyone for over one hundred days of travel? What does it take to be self-sustained and responsible for all of one's actions and decisions?
The solo canoe journal stories are a combination of the day to day excursions and decisions that a solo paddler must make to successfully navigate from one lake or campsite to another and to another and so on while managing to stay safe and to not get lost in the wilderness. The journal stories are also filled with very real and personal insights into the mind frame of the author who attempts to relate to the reader the intense feeling of what wilderness, or solitude or fear or a number of intimate emotions means to him in the moment.
Alone in a Canoe also includes detailed gear and food lists and trip statistics. The stories are inspiring. It is a must read if you ever dreamed about what it would be like to be alone in a canoe in the wilderness for any length of time. The book is printed in an 8 1/2 by 8 1/2 format to enhance the more than 200 color photos documenting the journeys.
People who Paddle a Canoe, Outdoor and Wilderness Enthusiasts, Backcountry Educators, Adventure Advocates, Future Campers, Fisherman, Recreators, Dreamers, Individuals who Cherish Solitude, and Folks who enjoy great Nature Photography will enjoy this book.
The concept of Photosynthesis (building-up something using the Energy
of light) is presently applied only to the plants kingdom. However the
unraveling of the intrinsic property of melanin to split and re-form the
water molecule breaks the paradigm. During a study about the three main
causes of blindness initiated in 1990 in Aguascalientes, Mexico; Dr. Solis
Herrera found the previously unknown capacity of melanin molecule to
absorb photonic energy, dissipating it in a unique manner: splitting the water
molecule. The very first step of life in plants and humans is practically the
same: the dissociation of the water molecule.
Fight or Flight is a two part book. Part one explains how stress is an integral part of our lives. It can be motivational or debilitating. Therefore it is not avoiding stress, but rather managing stress that is critical. The book discusses the four conditions that cause stress, mindset, habitual thought patterns, and how the brain functions during stress. Part two is aimed at helping us manage stress. Stress can affect us physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Hence, rather than relying on general stress reduction techniques, it is better to employ specific physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual techniques for managing stress.
This book is a must read for all colon hydrotherapists and individuals who are interested in Alternative and Complementary Gastroenterology.
This book provides basic academic knowledge that all colon hydrotherapists should possess. Dorothy Chandler, Past President, I-ACT, Chicago, IL
This book carries the worthy title of The Definitive Guide to Colon Hydrotherapy. While Dr. Holt has written this book for practitioners of colon hydrotherapy and their ancillary staff, this book should be of great interest to healthcare consumers and healthcare-givers of all disciplines. There is no doubt that this book is comprehensive in its approach; and Dr. Holt has been careful to separate out his personal recommendations from those of other organizations or regulatory agencies. For example, Dr. Holt feels strongly that colon hydrotherapists should have a good working knowledge of diseases of the colon so that they can identify individuals who present contraindications to colonic irrigation. Regulatory authorities do not generally encourage any involvement of non-physician colon hydrotherapists in colonic or general disease diagnosis, prevention or management.

I entitled this book Immortal Mitochondria because thousands of them in every one of my cells with
their own genome make me live, grow, and function as a person with power to feel and heal. I inherited
this old eukaryotic symbiont from my maternal mothers may be a 1000 years ago and there may me a
1000 or more males and females out there with mitochondrial genome similar to mine. This biological
truth relates to our daily life in terms of foods we eat for energy and our vitality, our electro-magnetic
life processes, life span, aging and death. As mitochondria do all this, they fuse, split, change shape,
and get destroyed under their own specification of purposeful quality control.
I wish to tell my readers that the mitochondrial genome talks to our nuclear genome regularly and
caring for it is critical to our health and longevity. The first chapter is about biochemistry of chemical
energy production from glucose, the second is about how,
how often, and what kind of foods that we should eat, the
third is about vital signs and organ failures due to failing
mitochondria, and the fourth is about diseases controlled
my mitochondrial genes. The fifth chapter is an integrated
summation of all. It describes the evolution of and power
production by mitochondria, mitochondrial health as it relates
to aging, and the e ects of how we choose to live on the health
of mitochondria. I should emphasize that How we choose
to live includes exercise, yoga, meditation, mindfulness,
acupuncture, self-message, and even the way we use our
mind. We live by 3,750 million of these nanomagnets in our
cells and our life is all about the life of mitochondria within
us. We can live long and well only by healthy mitochondria.
We must help them remain immortal by good foods.
A HISTORY OF ORTHOPEDICS portrays the beginning of orthopedic surgery from ancient times to the current era. It follows the gradual development of a specialty from Egypt to the European continent and England and from there to the United States of America. After the discovery of anesthesia and x-rays in the 19th century, a more rapid development of surgical endeavors led to the current situation where arthroscopy could view and treat
deranged joint mechanics, and painful arthritic joints could be replaced. Many of the important persons who helped
reach this current state are listed with their contributions. Whereas in the 19th century orthopedic surgery was
still considered part of general surgery, in the 20th century the two specialties became separated. In addition, there
was a struggle between conservative practitioners (the Strap and Buckle doctors) and those who felt surgical
intervention provided better results.
David Earl Henard received his commission as a second lieutenant signal officer in the US Army upon his graduation from the University of Missouri of Rolla with a BS in electrical engineering in August 1965. His service as a helicopter pilot with the 25th Aviation Battalion, 25th Infantry Division in Vietnam began in July 1967 and ended in June 1968. After a nine-month assignment near Warrington, England, as the aviation detachment commander and battalion signal officer, when he married Gail, he began civilian life as a graduate assistant and student at the University of Illinois. His work there led him into computer programming and systems development, leading to an assignment as the assistant director for systems development at the University of Illinois, Urbana. He received a Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering in June, 1971. He was hired as the computer services director at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois, beginning in 1980. He retired from EIU as the associate vice president for information technology services in 2000 to join his wife Gail as a part-time missionary and as a stock trader. The two have served in various humanitarian jobs in Scotland; Juarez, Mexico; and Central Asia.
This is his story about the Tet Offensive, where the 25th Infantry Division was heavily involved in the defense of Saigon. He includes some Vietnam history leading to the Tet Offensive and some researched insights on the press coverage that heavily influenced the ultimate outcome.

As coaches, we want to be successful and we want to win. As Christian coaches, we know we are called to a much higher purpose than just winning football games. We are called to be great husbands, great dads, and men who shine as lights for Jesus Christ. As a coach, what does that look like and how are we to go about putting Christ before winning? If we do not have a plan and are not intentional in pursuing our plan, we will fail. We will find ourselves once again bowing down to the god of winning and success.
It is quite likely that this is the most unbelievable
true story you will ever read.
At its core, this book is a factual and historical account
of a very important discovery that was never shared with
the world - one that changed previously established and
accepted benchmarks of human abilities.
It is time this story was told.
In 1990, the entire defense system of the United States
was completely shut down by a Navy enlistee and a pencil.
Authorities accused this man of being a foreign military spy.
They perceived him to be an alien hybrid or time traveler,
simply because of his unbelievable abilities and attributes.
An engaging journey of experiences and challenges that may
benefit the reader, a testament to perseverance
and determination.
This story may read like a spy novel, or perhaps
science fiction . . . but it is not.

Fritz Von Erich: Master of the Iron Claw is the story about the life and times of Jack Adkisson, also known as pro wrestling legend Fritz Von Erich, and the famous Von Erich wrestling dynasty. Not since the Kennedys of Massachusetts has an American family publicly suffered personal tragedy after personal tragedy like the Von Erichs of Denton County, Texas.
While the Kennedy family became famous worldwide for their political accomplishments and the tragedies of their sons, the Von Erich family became famous worldwide for their athletic accomplishments and the tragedies in their family.
Read how Fritz Von Erich and his five sons impacted the wrestling world with their family's show World Class Championship Wrestling, which at one time was syndicated in 66 U.S. television markets, Japan, Argentina, and the Middle East. The story, as told to Ron Mullinax by Jack Adkisson himself, follows his wrestling career and family tragedies beginning in the 1950s and continuing until his death in 1997.
The book is divided in two. The first section addresses the theoretical shortcoming that result from the predominance of capitalism. We recognize that capitalism was initially accepted as progressive and incorporated elements of democracy however slavery (the first contradiction of capitalism) was the economic activity which produced the profits which were then invested in the industrial revolution. Successful industry ultimately destroyed slavery (captains of industry insisted that if they had to pay their workers, other captains would have to do the same). But, the ground work was laid for racism, which became the next contradiction of capitalism. As the democratic revolutions of Europe and the U.S. promised liberty and justice for all, slavery lived on. Meanwhile, capitalism continued to reach out, and colonialism and imperialism became the form of domination it would coexist with. Domination included abuse of the environment and natural resources. The second part of the book is empirical. After reviewing the conditions of African American the authors review several essential building blocks for rebuilding communities that can provide stability and prosperity for all.
The book is my story but I was motivated to write after my mother survived a blood clot and an autoimmune skin disease at 96. I have relied on non-western medicine throughout my ordeal. I recommend that we embrace alternatives in medicine, home care and housing.

Here is a book that has something to say to all of us. The abundant quotations in this book go off like fireworks. Any number of them could change your life - whether you serve in ministry, business, education or parenting.
One pastor of a large church said that he carried a copy of the author's original booklet, Mistakes Leaders Make, in both his briefcases so that no matter where he was he could reference the material.
The popular format of that booklet is retained in this greatly expanded edition. The two major parts, What Leadership Is ... and What Leadership Does Not ... are made up of stand-alone do's and don'ts. Read as much or as little as you have time for. Then, pick up where you left off. The author's 23 watercolor and pen and ink sketches of leaders from various professions add life, vibrancy and personality to this work.
Missionary Mark Sigstad wrote to say that a Nigerian pastor who had left his church got back into the ministry as a church planter largely because of the original booklet. We can only pray that this volume is of similar benefit.
General George Patton who was one of Dwight Eisenhower's instructors at Fort Leavenworth in 1926 predicted that he would one day work for Eisenhower This book tells you why that prediction came to pass.
The Governor who had time for blind children later won the American Presidency by more Electoral College votes than any other man in history. This book tells the story.
Warren W. Wiersbe, prolific author, broadcaster and pastor said, This is an excellent book ... I am reading it, learning from it and enjoying it. It is a refreshing change from much of what's out there on leadership today.
The book you hold in your hands tells the remarkable story of one woman's journey from a diagnosis of irreversible brain damage-that would leave her with an 8th grade IQ-to her stunning and unexpected recovery from both physical and mental deterioration.
In spite of the opinions of experts who claimed she would never return from such a prognosis, she did rebound, accompanied by a radical life change which led her to become a holistic health practitioner-a board-certified Naturopath and Nutritionist, with the added bonus of finding her life's calling by improving the health and the quality of others' lives.
Her story is an inspiring account that carries a message of hope for all who seek to achieve wellness and healing in their own physical, mental, and spiritual lives. Sherin Lee's story will provide you with inspiration and hope as you follow her on your own health journey.
Lee is a firm believer that we shall lay witness to many cures that the medical sciences of today...claim impossible. This book encourages everyone's belief that in life, in YOUR life, all things are possible to he who believes and it all begins with hope.
And anything can happen when one has hope.
If you have been keeping company with your enemy called FEAR---command it to leave
