Music. Not Noise leverages over thirty years of experience, identifying and addressing subtle cues leaders often easily overlook as they guide their organizations through constant and controlled growth. It highlights the importance of synchronized passion, insight, and foresight in creating harmony, contrasting it with the dissonance often found in less cohesive efforts.
Like music, business is a blend of art and craft. Whether new or established, for profit or not-for-profit, organizations often struggle to maintain harmony through their people, processes, and systems. Successful leaders are those who simplify complexities and possess the vision and courage to see what others may not to ensure the organization remains in tune.
Acknowledging that all organizations eventually face adversity at some level, Music. Not Noise emphasizes the importance of agility and adaptability, drawing on examples of once-prominent organizations that failed to adapt and eventually succumbed to their own noisiness, as well as examples of some that succeeded.
In essence, Music. Not Noise delves into the intricacies of leadership and the art of discerning when an organization's performance deviates from music to noise. It advocates for a refined instinct that goes beyond textbooks and conventional wisdom, emphasizing a nuanced understanding of an organization's harmonious functioning and the necessity for leaders to transform noise into music.

Growing up in a small town in Ohio, Chelsea's life is picture-perfect. A solid, Christian family running their little farm while homeschooling their children is what people see on the outside. But that is far from the truth. Her parents' obscure religious beliefs and tainted thinking are a prison for her to thrive while growing up. Sexual abuse by her father, as well as other trusted adults, are normal occurrences during her childhood. The secrets of abuse and the shame it causes build even-thicker prison walls.
With incredible strength and the support of friends, Chelsea finds the courage to speak up and break free. She learns that true freedom does not come when the abuse stops. It is a long journey of altering her mind and learning the truth of who God created her to be.
This book is a true and raw account of abuse and the damage it does to the hearts of those who endure it. Not only does Chelsea share her pain but also her healing journey and how God has brought redemption from her pain. She explains in detail what has helped her continue to push through and also what has gotten her through many dark, hopeless days.
Chelsea's desire for the book is to bring light to the extreme darkness of abuse and to show others there is hope through healing to those fighting to survive.

Now, snuggle up with your child as you enjoy We Leave Our Shoes EVERYWHERE! and celebrate their shoes. And also celebrate going barefoot because you can't find their shoes!
Dr. Claire Thompson was renowned for her past unorthodox group therapy programs, which was the reason she was approached by the local school board who needed her expertise. They wanted her to develop an experimental high school class for sixteen once-exceptional students dealing with unknown issues greatly affecting their school performance. Not only have their grades plummeted, but also these teenagers have closed themselves off from their families and friends.
When she agreed to take on this project, Dr. Claire had no idea that working with high school students would be far more challenging than she had anticipated. She had always worked with adults who were struggling with their work or their home life, with addiction or finances. Her patients always seemed to have a common ground, but Dr. Claire has no idea what is troubling each of her sixteen students. She wants them to work as a group, so she needs to come up with one unique project that will unify her sixteen students yet encourage them to open up as an individual. So far, nothing she has tried in the past couple months has worked, and failing her students is not an option.
What has personally traumatized each of her sixteen first-period students? Why have these intelligent, promising teenagers suddenly become apathetic slackers? How can she get these high school students to open up? What are they hiding from themselves and others? What are their stories that need to be told?
These are the questions Dr. Claire Thompson must find answers to in order to help her troubled sixteen students. If she doesn't, their regressing lives will plummet even further, and they will become lost in the system forever.
How can she get them to use their voice?
What propelled the daughter of a renowned Jewish scholar to join a movement on the fringe of American society that rejected religion, capitalism, and other mainstream ideals?
Amy Schechter, born in England and educated in the United States, devoted two-thirds of her life, more than four decades, to the Communist Party in a quest to improve the lives of working men and women.
Party work took her across the United States, from textile mills and coal fields to shipyards and docks. During one of the most famed strikes of its time, her name frequented newspaper front pages as a defendant in a celebrated murder trial. In Russia, she lived in a little-known American colony in Siberia and attended the Party's finishing school in Moscow.
A FBI informant labeled Amy a regular ten-minute egg as in hard-boiled. The New York Times said Amy became one of the most ardent among the New York radicals. A Jewish columnist called her one of the few genuinely idealistic Communists; she lives up to her ideals in her private life, sharing what she has with others less fortunate.
A Life of the Party blends the historical record with narrative fiction fitting Amy's life and times.
Owen wrote this enjoyable book to help children understand the importance of community service, friendship, giving a helping hand, a hint at financial literacy, and character building. I am amazed at how God works in our life to answer our prayers. At the time of my divorce, I prayed for another son. I even told God how to answer my prayer. Lord, there are quite a few single moms who have a son who needs a dad. I told God just introduce me to the right woman, and I'll take it from there. In reality, every time I met someone who fit the bill, something would happen, and they would disappear. What's up, God? Why aren't you working this out? What I didn't know was that God had already worked it out. The moment I prayed, he answered the prayer. He selected the son he wanted me to have, a boy who lived five thousand five hundred miles away in a small village in Russia. Russia. Thankfully, God didn't tell me that, or I would have freaked out. How was he going to get me to Russia?
The essence of this book is how God worked it all out. I never--and I mean never--wanted to go to Russia. In fact, Russia was the last place on earth I ever wanted to go. I am still in wonder at how God worked this out. Even when I finally agreed to look at adoption, I didn't really believe it would happen. I am a black American trying to adopt a blond, green-eyed Russian boy. Not going to happen. Wow, God, what a sense of humor. Even though there was roadblock after roadblock, flat rejections by the Russian authorities, and unimaginable difficulties, God just told me to trust him. I didn't know until the final seconds of this almost two-year adoption process that it would be approved. God did his part, and now Lev has a father, and I have the son I asked for.
Burning with desire to share the value of freedom, Antonina takes you from her plight in communist Bulgaria to the free shores of America. Following unfortunate events of life in a totalitarian regime in Bulgaria, Antonina bids goodbye to her homeland and flees to the Western world. She provides true experiences and observations of what life is in a communist society-her family's lands and cattle being confiscated by the agricultural labor cooperatives; the censorship of the press and any literal, artistic, and scientific works from the West; religion being prohibited; and any deviation from the norm leading to detention in a labor camp. Her last crossing of the Bulgarian-Yugoslavian border almost costs Antonina her life and makes up her mind to never go back. She describes her life as an immigrant at the refugee camp in Traiskirchen, Austria, while waiting for an American visa.
Antonina is ecstatic when the plane cruises over the Statue of Liberty and lands in the most amazing city in the world-New York. She describes how she could taste, smell, feel, and touch freedom as she gets off the plane, ready to embark on new adventures. Antonina gets educated and becomes a good specialist in taxation, working for the United States Treasury Department. Ultimately, after the fall of the Berlin Wall, she is invited to go back to Bulgaria and fix a broken tax system as a representative of the United States government. Her work in the newly democratic society of Bulgaria paved the way for the country to become a member of NATO, escaping Soviet influence, and later being accepted in the family of the European Union.

As we grow into adulthood and start a family, watching our little ones grow,
reach milestones, and small achievements that we take for granted every day
is heartwarming. As you well know, being a parent is the most rewarding
job you will ever have, but it is also the most challenging job as well. When
you see them smile for the first time, laugh, roll over, crawl, take their first
steps, etc., these are huge achievements for them. Do you remember the
hilarious things they say and do as they are discovering their own character
and personalities? Did you ever think I'll never forget that? I bet you forgot. I
knew I would forget those little things, so I wrote everything down. I carried
a little pocket calendar and notebook with me everywhere. I would write
down things that they said and did, and then I would write them a letter once
a month. I have written a letter since before they were even born every month
for over seventeen years. I told them about the good, bad, and the ugly. The
struggles they endured, the challenges they faced and gave me. The mistakes
that we both made along the way and how we handled them together. I am
not the perfect parent by any means, but I sure tried my hardest to be the
best mother I could be to my girls. I love them both with all my heart. We
are incredibly close. We are the Three Musketeers.

What do you do when your life is turned completely upside down in a single moment? How do you continue to live when one of the most important people in your world is stolen from you in such an unfair way? How do you overcome a loss that is deeper than you feel you can handle? What do you do when the heaviness is unbearable and relief from the pain is unattainable?
These were the questions that I faced on September 25, 2022. My thirteen-year-old son, Jonathan Thomas Zerzavy, was returning home from a college football game when the vehicle that he was in was struck by a drunk driver traveling in excess of one hundred miles per hour. At that speed, there was nothing that could have been done to prevent the inevitable. Jon was jolted loose from his seat belt and ejected from the vehicle. His tiny frame could not withstand the trauma that was bestowed upon it, and he was killed instantly.
Resilience is not easy when everything you thought you knew is shattered in a moment. Everything that was a certainty is now overshadowed with doubt, and the things that seemed important in life are no longer as significant as they once were. The journey of healing is extremely difficult, but there is hope when you are hopeless. God can heal you and restore you. He can take a situation that was meant to destroy you and use it to redefine your purpose for being. Even when you can't see it, there is joy to be found in your journey. This book is intended to honor the life of my son Jon, to share his story, and to provide a perspective that has been gleaned from walking the most difficult path that I have ever traversed. After reading this, it is my hope that you are better equipped to navigate whatever challenge is before you and that the perspective gained allows you to both identify and operate in your intended purpose for the rest of your days.
I chose the title Good Day, St. Augustine because there really is no better way to spend a day. There is so much to experience and something for everyone, whether it's soaking up the rich history, spending time on our beautiful beaches, enjoying a night out at a fabulous restaurant, or enjoying our landmarks and the plethora of activities that are available. There is never a lack of something to do. It's more about choosing the kind of day you want to have and then enjoying that experience and making memories with family and friends.
