A graduate of medical science in 2010, a youth leader and now a pastor, Andrew is most passionate about serving the Lord's Will and bringing His freedom to humanity.
Nothing is worse than a teenager who has to deal with no sense of meaning and purpose in life and the doubts associated with being born into a religious family. I had to attend Sunday services, and whether I felt like it or not, join in the worship and praise, hear the long often boring sermons, and pay my way out for the attendance by means of the offerings collected. Church meant nothing more to me than an activity that stole my time from my favourite television show, which happened to be on at the same time as the services. I could not identify with the church, because I felt it was not relevant to the issues I was dealing with then. Of course there is the promise of heaven, and that was good to know, but I was naively confident I would live long enough to make the necessary changes in my life required to make it to heaven before I died. The promise of heaven was not enough for me to take church seriously as a teenager. I was on the search for relevance, and Christianity was too future-orientated for me to identify with.
My quest for germaneness led me to the Spirit-inspired teachings of the late Dr. Myles Monroe. In my mid twenties I had a dramatic personal encounter with God. Little did I know that it would mark the end of a meaningless life of confusion and open a new chapter of life dedicated to seeking and serving God in truth.
I came to the realization that God wanted to use me to address the very questions I had asked myself several times as a teenager. What is the role of the church in our societies and the world at larger?
In this book I will be discussing truths that are concealed or often ignored. Truths that the world may not be able to accept and yet the very truths that will set humanity free from all our struggles.

Later all he could remember was the blood-red geranium on the window ledge. The vibrant flower found at every mine head. Superstitions long held of its magical power to keep the mine safe and the devil at bay. Well, it had not worked for Pa, had not protected him. The devil, in all his malevolent evil, had been there, to destroy the one person who had been the mainstay of Jonathon's life.
1821 survivor, Frenchman Christian de Furneaux crawls onto the dubious sanctuary of a Cornish beach. He sets in motion a saga that will encompass the tin mines of Cornwall to, decades later, the tin mines of South Australia.
His descendants, including protagonist Jonathon de Furneaux, endure the downturn of the tin and copper industries. They grapple with the emerging China clay trade. Unexpected deaths, missing children and alcoholism.
Jonathon travels to North Wales learns about sheep husbandry and slate quarrying but following setbacks, the family decide to seek a future in South Australia. They quickly become embroiled in the ethos of their new country and the different religious beliefs, cultures, politics of the 1880's and early gold rush finds.
The closer we come, the bigger He becomes; the more we see, the greater destiny we embrace. God is calling us closer to Him, to draw near to His heart, and to fall in sync with His motions. To take a risk and jump into the extraordinary plan He has for each of our lives. It's a plan that will make our hearts race, and a plan that will take our breath away. Yet as we lean into all He is, He flips our world upside-down. It's where we discover that life is more than just about us individually; it's about God and us relationally. It's how we are able to walk on the sky and have a vision for His kingdom come for the cities around us.
Maybe you have been in a pursuit of seeing Jesus, but have never taken a moment to know how God sees you. You've read through the Bible quite a few times, but rarely have heard His voice of love speaking behind it. Closer is the whisper to your heart. As you dive into this devotional, you will find it is more than checking off a daily to-do list. This is a devotion to Jesus, to press into Him and all that He is. It's a set apart time with the One who is whispering life into your heart and is longing to be with you. Every moment you live He is inviting you closer to Him, to hear His voice, to feel His heartbeat, and to dance to the melody of His love. With confidence, I can say, that the closer you come to God, the deeper you will discover who He truly is, who He knows you are, and where He's designed you to live beyond existing.
He's not just saying, Come. He's beckoning: Come closer.
About the author
Marc Wheway has earned a Ph.D. from Louisiana Baptist University and Theological Seminary (2014), majoring in eschatology. Twenty-Four is his fourth published book, following Daniel's Divulgement (2021), The Revelation, Proclaimed and Explained (2021), and The Revelation, The Revival (2015). Marc is the founder and overseer of Kingdom Seekers. Founded in 2008, the ministry is focused on the signs of the times, leading to the return of Jesus Christ. The book of Revelation is the most misunderstood and feared book within the entire Bible. Most believe it is a book about Satan, the antichrist, the false prophet, judgment, doom and gloom, thereby entirely miss the point and the purpose. The Revelation, Proclaimed and Explained presents John's revelation clearly and concisely, clearing up the confusion.
Through an exegetical and expositional approach, Dr. Marc Wheway first and foremost proclaims the blessings of the book of Revelation. While there are seven specific blessings within this remarkable book, the primary blessing is Jesus. The book of Revelation is the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Offering an in-depth study, Dr. Wheway will help you discover how the book of Revelation is the unveiling, revealing and uncovering of Jesus Christ to all humanity. The Revelation, Proclaimed and Explained provides insight into the fulfillment of the covenant promises in both the Old Testament and the New. Soon, God will return for His people, they will reign with Him, and He will forever dwell with them.
When thirty seven year-old Australian dentist, Graham Toulmin, told his bank manager in 1985 he was selling his practice and moving, with his wife Wendy and four young children, to a remote location in Central Africa to try to set up a pioneering dental service within the Anglican Church, the response was, 'Toulmin, you've got rocks in your head'!
Long Road to Zaïre, told with compassion, insight and more than a dash of humour, is the inspiring story of the Toulmin's journey that led to this family of six leaving Australia and arriving in the bustling African town of Butembo in the mountainous region of eastern Zaïre.
Looking back over half a lifetime, Graham addresses the question that their bank manager raised, a question that some of their children, now adults with children of their own, have also jokingly raised: 'Mum and Dad, what were you thinking'?
This is the story of 'why' and 'how' Graham and Wendy embarked on their long road to Zaïre, beginning for Graham when, growing up as a boy in the town of Wollongong, south of Sydney, he was forced to make an emergency trip to the dentist.
All this can indeed be yours!

The prison loomed ahead. Visible through the grime-spattered windscreen. It stood like some exaggerated and long-forgotten relic of yesteryear transposed to another time.
How many lives had been spent wasted behind its sullen stone walls? How many terrors did it hide? How many evils did it perpetuate?
Out of habit I checked the rear-vision mirror, making sure there were no police following. You always do that when you are on the run, and I had been on the run for most of my life. As I stopped the car I caught sight of my reflection in the mirror. A flattened nose and leathery, lined skin testified to my wild, brawling past. I was a Christian now, but I still had the look of a criminal. I couldn't shake it, and the habits of years on the run - always watching for cops, always looking back over my shoulder - were still with me.
With wit, humour and a good deal of self-deprecation, Dr Ross James reflects on 40 years of living and working internationally. Ross is a story teller who draws on personal journals and correspondence to tell the story of what happened after he left a family funeral business and yielded to the leading of Providence.
Ross explains an Ascent, a 20-year period of preparation as a journalist, academic and researcher. The ascent of preparation levelled out on the Crest of purpose, what was to be his life's work, motivated by the teachings of Jesus whose life exemplified care for the marginalised and poor. He lived and worked in several Asian countries then relocated to Australia and led initiatives to develop community-centred media projects throughout Asia.
After detailing the Ascent and explaining the Crest, in Perspective Ross reflects on achievements concurrent with clinical depression accompanied by despair and loss of joy. Some excerpts from his personal journals are painful reading; some revelations are vulnerable honesty. Yet, Ross accepts a proposition that depression might have been a 'gift of a handicap' which compelled him to depend on Providence to overcome his limitations. His startling conclusion is that he is, after all, a bamboo camel, designed with specifications to fulfil a providential purpose.
This is neither a book on Christian mission or depression nor a devotional about a victorious Christian life. It is a memoir, a truly authentic reflection of someone's dependence on Providence to maintain a steadfast life lived in response to circumstances that few are called upon to endure.
Jacob's life was a drama from womb to grave. There were twists and turns to negotiate on his path through life. At one time, he had to flee from his twin brother Esau, and later from his uncle Laban with his daughters in hand. In his time of need, Jacob made a pact with God. So, God became his travel companion on his journey. And on the way, the reader will see how they build a relationship with each other, and how their pact was fulfilled.
There are surprises in the narrative that would shock, and challenge the reader in their faith. This book, intuitively invites the reader to make their own pact with God, and start their own journey with God.
The story of Jacob is a Bible commentary on a familiar character. The insights gathered into this book make it a valued resource for preaching, teaching, and for meditation on the word of God for personal growth and faith.
