A comprehensive and detailed illustrated examination of the development and combat performance of US battle tanks from World War I to the end of World War II.
In this, the first of two highly illustrated volumes examining the complete history of US Army and US Marine Corps battle tanks, Steven J. Zaloga focuses on the history of the tank in American service from the first experiments with armored vehicles in the early years of the 20th century through to the end of World War II. Expanding on material published in Osprey series including New Vanguard, Campaign, and Duel, US Battle Tanks 1917-1945 explores the concepts and practice of tank development from the Renault FT, through the M4 Sherman to the M26 Pershing. The MEP series of Military Generators are reknowned for their quiet, durable operation and conservative power ratings. This is the PMCS, General Maintenance, and Direct Support Maintenance manual for the 15KW version of the generator issued under models 804 and 814. The A series has analog controls and the B series has digital controls. Various units are manufactured for the US Government by different contractors with different power plants. This book is a reprint of the operator manual published by the US Army. It is printed as a courtesy to enthusiasts and owners of these generator sets. Other important manuals for this generator are also printed by this publisher.
Following the cataclysmic losses suffered in World War I, air power theorists in Europe advocated for long-range bombers to overfly the trenches and strike deep into the enemy's heartland. The bombing of cities was seen as a means to collapse the enemy's will to resist and bring the war to a quick end. In the United States, airmen called for an independent air force, but with the nation's return to isolationism, there was little appetite for an offensive air power doctrine. By the 1930s, howe
In the wake of the T-72 tank's poor performance in the 1991 Gulf War, the Kremlin instructed the Russian tank industry to drop the discredited T-72 designation in favor of the T-90 Vladimir. The T-90 was in fact a further evolution of the T-72 family, but the name change represented an important break in Russian/Soviet tank design history.
The T-90 has become the principal export tank of Russia, and is in service in large numbers in many countries including Algeria, India, and many of the former Soviet republics. Using detailed illustrations and full color artwork, this book will also describe the evolution of the T-90s many failed successors including the little known Bokser, Molot, and T-95, as well as its likely successor, the new T-14 Armata, and the wide range of specialized vehicles based on the T-90 chassis such as the formidable Terminator tank support vehicle. This manual contains maintenance information for the 5 ton M939 US Military Trucks.
