Every road must come to an end.
THE DEAD. Facing a war where revenants outnumber the living, Caris Rourke must confront a future written in the stars, one she wants no part of. In order to outmaneuver the enemy, Caris must learn to trust her instincts, no matter where they lead, whether into the heart of danger or into the arms of Nathaniel, a dead man walking she should not trust, much less love.
THE WAR. Eimarille Rourke wants nothing more than to be queen of all Maricol and will do anything to succeed, even the unthinkable. Determined to claim the starfire throne for herself, she must first eradicate all other claimants. Seeking to assassinate her sister and brother amidst a war of her own making will lead Eimarille down a road of ruin from which there is no turning back.
THE LIVING. In the wake of the attack on the Warden's Island, Soren returns to the people who made him into the warden he is today. But the past he thought he'd left behind as a child has given him a name he does not want. Far from the only man he's ever loved, carrying a vow that could change the course of the war, Soren must decide if destroying his life is worth saving a world.
THE STARS. In the throes of an escalating war, Vanya Sa'Liandel must put his country above all else, even his own happiness. As Houses seek to betray him and the fallout of his family's past mistakes claws ever closer, not having Soren by his side is an anguish he can't escape. In the end, the tide of war could turn with an alliance he cannot afford to grant. But years ago, Vanya gave his heart to a warden, and some kinds of love weren't meant to burn out but to rage like starfire.
Maddox
The reason I rarely go home is three simple words: I'm a liar.
When the pressure to marry my childhood sweetheart became too much, I told her I was gay and then fled to New York like my ass was on fire.
Now, five years later and after a drunken encounter, I find myself invited to her wedding. And I have to bring my boyfriend-the boyfriend who doesn't exist because I'm straight.
At least, I think I am. Meeting the guy I'm bribing to be my boyfriend for the weekend makes me question everything about myself.
Damon
When my sister asks me to pretend to be some straight guy's boyfriend, my automatic response is to say no. It's because of guys like him people don't believe me when I tell them I'm gay.
But Maddox has something I need.
After an injury that cost me my baseball career, I'm trying to leave my playing days behind and focus on being the best sports agent I can be. Forty-eight hours with my sister's best friend in exchange for a meeting with a possible client. I can do this.
I just wish he wasn't so hot. Or that he didn't kiss like he means it.
Wait ... why is the straight guy kissing me?
I'm publicly bisexual now, I'll make all the musical theatre references I please. I'll belt Cole Porter songs prancing on top of this bar if I want to. -His Royal Highness Prince Edward Nicholas William Desmond of Wales, second son of Her Majesty Queen Victoria II of England and the Commonwealth
Eddie Kensington had certain responsibilities up until two weeks ago. Dress well, smile in public, uphold the family honor. Be straight. Never talk about being bisexual, or being in love with his bodyguard, Isaac Cole, for nearly ten years. Protecting his mother and siblings from yet more tabloid scandal in the wake of his parents' high-profile divorce was always more important.
Up until two weeks ago, when he was outed by the press. Now he's in the midst of an unscheduled identity crisis, and his entire family seems to be joining in. His estranged father shows up. His sister flirts with the reporter hired to write their grandmother's biography. His older brother is more reluctant than ever to take up public-facing duties, and Her Majesty is considering going out on a date. Keeping calm and carrying on becomes impossible when Eddie learns Isaac might return his decidedly inconvenient feelings.
For any one of them to steal a happily ever after, the Kensingtons will have to decide what they really hold dear-the legacy they were born into, or the dreams they kept for themselves.
Seven months ago, Caleb's life was turned upside down. A terrible car accident took away his hand, his career, and the confidence he once had. Feeling like a monster himself is as good a reason as any to join a monster dating app. Surely a monster wouldn't be particular about looks, would they?
Teracht is a small spider. Well, small in the monster world, anyway. The human world offers the opportunity to, hopefully, not be eaten, and his webbing is useful in all sorts of medical and military technology. But what is a little spider creature with a big domination kink and a fear of leaving the house supposed to do to meet someone?
Can a damaged human and a shy monster overcome their insecurities to bring them closer together? Can confidence be gained through control, even in the midst of life's tangled webs? Spinning Out of Control is a monster-human romance and part of the Monster Match collection. It is a standalone story with its own HEA.
Romancing the Rainbow
An anthology of LGTBQIA+ Romance short stories.
We see boy-meets-girl stories from the moment we can start paying attention, from history and mythology to famous novels and advertisements. And, for the people those stories are applicable to, they are lessons and templates for how a boy and girl can, should, or could, interact-even when fictitious and obviously untrue.
But for those of us who do not fall easily into that boy/girl combination, there are fewer examples of How do I meet them? What do I say? How can I tell if they like me?
Those are tough questions for anyone, let alone those of us who don't have good examples or easy guidelines to follow.
Join us as we explore Romancing the Rainbow, across the LGTBQIA+ spectrum, and perhaps for those trying to find their way, a good story about a particular path may mean everything.
In honor and memory of L.J. Hachmeister, over 80% of the proceeds from this anthology are being donated to her family by the authors, contributors, and publisher.

* They're liable to try again at some point in the five-hundred-mile journey that they're inexplicably sharing.
* They are not falling in love with each other.
