Scroll up and click Buy NowThe perceived failure of the traditional public high schools to serve their students well fueled the rapid growth of the small-schools movement in the early 2000s. The belief was that unlike the large schools, the smaller schools would offer an authentic family-like relationships that will lead to higher engagement and achievement, thus closing the achievement gap and creating better opportunities for its students. Hence, the small schools will be able to mitigate the many challenges (poverty, homelessness, chronic absenteeism, etc.) students in economically disadvantaged areas face. Unfortunately, in many of these small schools, the hoped-for improvement in pedagogy and student achievement has been elusive. It appears that the leaders of these small schools have been corrupted by the power this position affords them. They will use any tool available--attacking, distorting, bullying, intimidating, lying, punishing--to hold onto their positions. Even though the toxicity of the environment leads to the mass exodus of pedagogical staff that caused an entire grade level to be without experienced content specialists, and the requirements of students' IEPs unmet, the principal remains steadfast in her belief: it is her school; you either do as she says or get out of her building. However, it is clear that to create the kinds of culturally responsive, uplifting, family-like structure that the small-school movement purports, it must transcend the traditional power structure between the leaders and those under their charge. Until that is achieved, the kinds of relationships that exist in the school featured in this text will continue to be the norm, not the exception.

One incredible thing about a child's mind is easy access to the world beyond. Within the pages of this book, your child will embark on a magical journey through the concepts of open-mindedness, mindfulness, and emotional intelligence, through engaging stories of magic, exploration, and transcending expectations.
This book begins with stories about fairies living all over the world, cultivating their gifts and bringing blessings to children in all backgrounds and life situations. In the following story, you will read about how one girl's life changes from ordinary to extraordinary as she uncovers the secrets of other corners of the world on visits to India, the Amazon Rainforest, and a neighborhood of a city just like hers.
She makes all of these visits during the three nights of the full moon on the back of a mystical moon horse who descends from the sky to teach her the greatest lessons of life. In the third story, you will explore a young prince's unlikely friendship with the kingdom gardener, and what he learns about compassion for others, and the strength that lies in being gentle.
Over the course of the story, the prince finds his own voice, and musters up the strength to speak up for what he believes is right for all the people of his kingdom. In the final story, you will read the stories of the children who come to the Central Park Wisdom Tree for advice.
The children explore the power of kindness, how to stand up to bullying, how to manage anger, calm anxiety, and find beauty in the way they learn.
Each of these stories is full of beautiful life lessons which will inform your child's thinking and help them to become more open, kind, and compassionate human beings. The soft, peaceful tone of the stories is perfect for bedtime and is sure to help your child wind down from the day and bring them to a night of blissful and restful sleep. It does not matter if you are an animal or human, we all have feelings. We all have different features and personalities. We are all one of a kind. You never know how anyone may be feeling inside. We should be nice and treat everyone with respect. If you see someone feeling down, say a kind and uplifting word to make him or her feel better. Sometimes a simple smile will suffice. A kind word or gesture can make someone feel better. Bullying can be very hurtful and can make a person sad. Remember to treat everyone the way you want to be treated.

This Step-By-Step Guide Shows You How To Stop Children From Being Bullied!
Bullying is a real problem. It's not just children who are bullied - it happens to adults as well. Bullies pick on those they perceive to be weaker. It may seem like bullying is just part of growing up but it's actually something that needs to be taken seriously because it can cause serious problems to a person's physical and emotional health.
Have you noticed that some of your children seem to be bullied more often than others? If you answered yes, there's a good chance your child will be a victim of bullying. Bullying is when an adult or older child uses words, actions, or violence to make other children uncomfortable, scared, hurt, or angry. Bullying occurs between students or peers of the same age group (most often 6th grade through high school) but sometimes it happens to older or younger children. The bully often wants to feel powerful or likes the attention they get by harassing someone else. They enjoy the fear they cause and may feel good about themselves when they get away with bullying. It can happen anywhere-at school, at recess, on the playground, at home.
I've written down my experience in a new system called How to Help Your Child Deal with Bullying, a book that I've just released. This book is designed to give parents a simple, step-by-step system that they can use to help their children overcome the bullying challenges they face.
