The Kybalion & The Emerald Tablet of Hermes compose two pillars of Hermetic thought. Combined here in one volume, these two works share true wisdom with those ready to receive it. When the ears of the student are ready to hear, then cometh the lips to fill them with wisdom.
The Kybalion was first published anonymously in 1908 by The Three Initiates. The true authorship of the work is unknown, although theories suggest it was written entirely or in part by William Walker Atkinson.
Atkinson was a prolific writer and supported the New Thought movement of the 19th and early 20th centuries. New Thought included the belief that our realities can be manifested by mental effort, which is also suggested in Hermetic principles. Scholars point to similarities in style and content between The Kybalion and Atkinson's own The Arcane Teachings as evidence that he was one (or all) of The Three Initiates.
The Kybalion provides an introduction to the teachings of Hermes Trismegistus--Hermes the Thrice-Greatest. This Master of Masters is said in The Kybalion to have lived 300 years on Earth, and believed by some to be the founder of both astrology and alchemy (precursors to astronomy and chemistry, respectively). Hermes Trismegistus was deified after his death as Toth by the ancient Egyptians, and Hermes by the Greeks. In both pantheons, this man-turned-god was considered a symbol of great wisdom.
The Kybalion's explanation of Hermetic teachings are claimed to have been passed down orally for centuries, eventually reaching The Three Initiates. The fundamental Hermetic traditions presented in The Kybalion consist of seven working principles Mentalism, Correspondence, Vibration, Polarity, Rhythm, Cause and Effect, and Gender. Within these seven principles is true wisdom, tied to no particular place and no particular religion. It is the sacred flame kept lit by a chosen few used to re-light the lesser lamps of the outside world when the light of truth grew dim... In short, these are the truths of the universe, regardless of era or creed.
The Emerald Tablet of Hermes is a short, ancient text attributed to Hermes Trismegistus himself. Unlike The Kybalion, which aims to provide some explanation and instruction, the brief Emerald Tablet has been puzzling and fascinating scholars for over 1,000 years.
Consisting of a mere 14 stanzas, the Emerald Tablet is said to contain the secrets of prima materia--the foundational material of the universe. The Emerald Tablet and its teaching influenced freemasonry and philosophy throughout history. The text of the tablet has been translated and commented on by a variety of scholars, including Sir Isaac Newton who was inspired by its teachings throughout his life and work.
The earliest known version of the text comes from an Arabic work written between the 6th and 8th centuries by Balinas. He claimed to have found the tablet hidden in a vault beneath a statue of Hermes. Another story claims the tablet was written by Seth, the third son of Adam and Eve. And yet another says the tablet was uncovered and then reburied by Alexander the Great.
The source and material of the physical tablet is unknown. It was reported to be a rectangular green stone, with text in raised bas-relief rather than engraved. Some even claim there never was a physical tablet at all, although several accounts claim it was on display in Egypt in 330 BCE. Whatever its origins and history, the work was first introduced to the West in the 12th century through Latin translations. Since then, this cryptic text has been translated and re-translated, pored-over and analyzed by philosophers, historians, and theologians alike.
Alchemy is a means of understanding and working in concert with the energies of nature for spiritual development, healing, and transformation. In this book, Brian Cotnoir offers a step-by-step introduction that explores alchemy's mysteries while illustrating its use as a modern spiritual system of attainment.
He provides an overview of the history of alchemy, from the first meldings of Egyptian technology to the Middle Ages--the golden age of alchemy--to contemporary techniques. He demystifies the relationship between alchemy and chemistry, and provides evidence that alchemy is much more than a medieval form of psychotherapy. The guide also includes practical laboratory experiments that safely and intelligently lead readers to an understanding of this ancient art and spiritual practice.
Alchemy is one of the world's oldest wisdom traditions and has until recently been a secret tradition that was only passed down to the chosen and often through a coded language. This is because alchemy touches upon that which nothing can surpass - the eternal life of the golden consciousness.
Alchemy shows the way into the deepest mysteries of existence, where our essence - our gold - can be revealed. We can realise our full potential through alchemy, access our hidden divine abilities and reach spiritual wholeness. The alchemist's work is about making the
impossible possible - to achieve immortality. The metaphor for this transformation is expressed as the refining of dark lead into shining gold. This miraculous process is the secret of secrets to which this book carries the keys.
For the first time, the divine work is presented in its entirety by authors with extensive experience in alchemy. The book Alchemy - the Divine Work conveys alchemy's history, philosophy and practice, and instructs the reader on how to become an alchemical master. Through this, one becomes a divine co-creator in both one's own refining process as well as that of the entire creation, like a true philosopher - a true lover of wisdom.
Ancient wisdom meets divine revelation as a seeker of knowledge delves into the mysteries of the universe, the nature of the divine, and the essence of the human soul. Through dialogues with powerful cosmic forces, the reader is guided through profound reflections on creation, the soul's journey, and humanity's place within a grand cosmic order. Alchemical and mystical symbols unfold in layered teachings, bridging the worlds of Greek and Egyptian thought, blending philosophy with spirituality. Each passage reveals insights meant to awaken a deeper understanding of self and the universe, inviting readers to question and explore their own inner landscapes.
A cornerstone of Renaissance thought, The Corpus Hermeticum profoundly shaped Western esoteric traditions, alchemy, and early scientific inquiry. Revered by scholars, it bridged ancient Egyptian and Greek philosophies, offering insight into divine knowledge and the mysteries of existence. Its influence reached thinkers from Marsilio Ficino to Isaac Newton, inspiring a synthesis of mysticism and reason that helped lay the foundation for modern philosophy and science. This text is not only a relic of ancient wisdom but a lasting invitation to explore the unity of nature, spirit, and the cosmos.
In this landmark exploration of the qualities of elemental degree, Robert Allen Bartlett sets up ancient alchemical natural philosophy against modern lab equipment. In the span of 150 pages, he outlines the historical basis for assigning temperament to an herb, and then presents raw laboratory data, in some cases copied facsimile from his own notes, to probe how chemistry either confirms or denies the results achieved through traditional alchemical theory and medical practice. A first printing, limited to 666 copies, features a full color interior and gold foil cover accents is available directly through the publisher. This version is the print-on-demand version.
2021 EDITION WITH IMPROVED IMAGES
This is the second and last book written by the mysterious Fulcanelli, published in 1929 in France, as two volumes in a short-run edition. This translation follows faithfully that edition. It is believed that Fulcanelli was able to discover the philosopher's stone shortly before 1930, and it is thought that this discovery had much to do with his disappearance.Although many speculate that Fulcanelli may have been the artist Julien Champagne, or Eugene Canseliet (who wrote several introductions to Dwellings of the Philosophers), no one knows for sure who Fulcanelli was.Dwellings of the Philosophers is a fundamental work for alchemy scholars. It is a general treatise on alchemy, enriched by many explanations and comments on the main traditional authors texts. Also, analyzing the hermetic symbolism applied to civil constructions, Fulcanelli sheds light on many alchemical riddles. This book analyses in depth the architectural elements and motifs of different buildings, from a modest house built in the 16th century in Lisieux (a small Norman town), the Dampierre Castle, the Holyrood Palace in Edinburgh, and several other chosen examples.Fulcanelli clearly explains, at the beginning of his work (in History and Monument), that carvings and statues offer a truer message than the always distorted written accounts. He said: It will therefore be explained why we prefer to see the Middle Ages, as the Gothic buildings reveal to us, rather than believing the description of historians.Likewise, Fulcanelli offers much information about the operations and procedures of the alchemical work, analyzing and unveiling the allegories used by many writers of hermetic art to veil the knowledge from those who are not deserving of it.
The point, line, plane and solid objects represent the first three dimensions, but a kind of reversal of space is involved in the ascent to a fourth dimension. Steiner leads us to the brink of this new perspective―as nearly as it can be done with words, diagrams, analogies, and examples of many kinds. In doing so, he continues his lifelong project of demonstrating that our objective, everyday thinking is the lowest rung of a ladder that reaches up to literally infinite heights. The talks in this series and the selections from the question-and-answer sessions on many mathematical topics over the years are translated into English for the first time in The Fourth Dimension.

This edition of The Mystery of the Cathedrals offers an English translation of the original 1926 edition of Le Mystère des Cathédrales, retaining the original drawings from that edition.
In 1957, long after Fulcanelli's disappearance, a second edition of Le Mystère des Cathédrales was published in France, with important changes. Most of the drawings were replaced by photographs. The 2nd edition also added a new preface and a new chapter, The Cyclic Cross of Hendaye, with more images.
Eugène Canseliet, a disciple of Fulcanelli and in charge of his manuscripts, wrote the preface to the 2nd edition and to many other editions of Fulcanelli's works, but he never explained why the original drawings were replaced by photographs. Most of the photographs in the 2nd edition are similar to the original drawings, although they are not the same, and in three different images the differences are noticeable.
The current English edition of Le Mystère des Cathédrales, translated by Mary Sworder, is based on the second edition of 1957, and shows photographs instead the original drawings.
This new translation faithfully preserves the drawings by Julien Champagne and the original numbering of the images, from 1 to 35. The text of the original edition was also translated anew, without introducing any of the changes found in most recent editions. The first edition of Le Mystère des Cathédrales fills an important place in the history of Alchemy. Newer editions added more material, but they couldn't replace the first one.
Eugène Canseliet, said, in the preface for the 1926 edition: the key to the major arcane is given, without any fiction, by one of the figures that adorn this work. Photographs and drawings are not the same and serve different purposes; photographs only show the same things that the naked eye can perceive, but drawings offer the illustrator a way to accentuate different aspects of the images, and thus add more symbolic depth to the scenes depicted.
There are also many small details that differ between the drawings and the photographs, but we will say no more, it is up to the reader to extract the symbolic meanings of the original drawings, aided by the masterful exposition of Fulcanelli, which is shown in this translation as originally presented in its first edition, including the dedication to the brothers of Heliopolis and the strange coat of arms at the end of the text.
Silberer's examinations of alchemy and the occult, and his attempts to correlate the two crafts to psychoanalysis, is published here complete with the original illustrations.
First published in 1917 under the title Problems of Mysticism and its Symbolism, this text represents the extensive investigations Herbert Silberer undertook in order to map occurrences in the occult with the ascendant psychoanalytic disciplines present in the Vienna School of which he was part.
This text is marked by its depth of research, with sources such as Hermes Trismegistus, Flamel, Lacinius, Michael Meier, Paracelsus, and Boehme quoted and drawn upon in service of Silberer's thesis. The support of alchemy as a spiritual movement, on the same level as the yoga traditions of the Indian subcontinent, is also notable.
For his part, Silberer believed that Freudian psychoanalytic theory did not venture far enough to uncover the mental workings of a patient. He therefore delved into literature to investigate material to do with various alchemical and occultist phenomena, and how such may prove useful as a supplement to Freud's methodology.
Together with the three original illustrations, this edition also contains the extensive bibliography and notes of Silberer. Unfortunately, the author died in 1922: at his time of death, Herbert Silberer had continued to unearth further knowledge of the arcane to support his beliefs, which would later prove influential on figures such as the psychiatrist Carl Jung.
