The story of The Who's momentous first tours of America told through fabulous photos by the band's official photographer and tour manager Tom Wright.
Foreword by Pete Townshend
Tom Wright first met Pete Townshend at Ealing Art School in the early 60s. He became The Who's official tour photographer and manager from 1967 in the US, also managing the Grande Ballroom in Detroit where The Who's rock opera Tommy premiered. He was much more than the band's photographer, he was a friend and photographed them right up to their farewell tour in 1991. Tom's vast record collection and musical influences had a big impact on the band in their early years.
Their Generation covers The Who's first tours of North America, a hugely creative time with explosive performances both on and off stage, the time of their US hit 'I Can See for Miles' and much more.
Through the fabulous photographs, many of which have never been seen before, we see the band backstage, onstage, on tour, at rehearsal, at ease, in studio, at home. The photos will be accompanied by extended captions providing background details of the time, the people and the places.
As well as The Who, Tom Wright toured with the Rolling Stones, the Faces, The James Gang, J. D. Elvis Costello, The Eagles and many more, documenting their performances and life on the road.
One thing is certain, had I not met Tom Wright, The Who would never have become successful. Pete Townshend
Paul has provoked people as much in recent times as he did when he was alive. Some regard him as a pestilent and dangerous fellow. Others think of him as the greatest teacher of Christianity after Jesus himself.
In this book, leading theologian Tom Wright focuses on key areas of Paul's teaching, helping us to understand what he was doing and saying. He sweeps away the confusion of much modern theology to uncover the real man and his message.
What St Paul Really Said is a book for all who want to weigh the evidence before making up their minds on the vital questions surrounding Paul. Equally it is for those who want to know what his message might mean for us today.
Arriving from his East Midlands beginnings into a London thick with the grime of industrialization, Joseph Merrick is an anomaly. In a city of factories that churn out uniformity, there is no place for someone like him.
But Merrick and the city are evolving into something new. We follow him through the workhouse, the freak show and the hospital, as he searches for acceptance in a society that just wants to stare at him.
Powerful, angry and surprising, Tom Wright's acclaimed play imagines an alternative history of the person who came to be known as 'the Elephant Man'. It restores Joseph Merrick to the center of his own story: a man fighting for his right to be and to belong.
The Real & Imagined History of the Elephant Man was first performed at Melbourne's Malthouse Theatre, before receiving its European premiere at Nottingham Playhouse in 2023, directed by Stephen Bailey, and supported by a grant from The Royal Theatrical Support Trust.
The author of What Dies in Summer delivers a crime novel that does so much more than most others . . . dark, haunting and beautifully written (Mark Billingham, international bestselling author).
On the Arkansas-Louisiana-Texas border, Det. Jim Bonham has been assigned a bewildering case: a woman has been brutally attacked and nailed to a cross on the outskirts of town the day after a devastating storm unnerves the community. Bonham recognizes her immediately as Dr. Deborah Gold, the town's well-known psychologist. Sensing how many secrets Dr. Gold took to her grave, Bonham's field of suspects grows to include the culture of the town itself--multiplying the questions that might explain how and why such a gruesome murder could be committed.A guide to healthy living using your mind, body and soul.

Currently America is in the middle of a health care crisis. It is amazing to listen to all the discussion, with little or no mention of prevention. Yes, we need to lower health care costs, make sure our seniors are taken care of, cut out the waste, and make insurance available to the 30 million Americans who in 2021 were uninsured...but other than running a more efficient health care system, the only other way to solve our health care crisis is to help people to be healthier. Amidst all the discussion, have we forgotten the most important ingredient? The purpose of this book is to help you achieve more in your life and become a healthier, happier person! As you read this book and apply these basic principles to your life, you will find more health, happiness, and peace. The idea of trial in the life of a believer as a stewardship responsibility is not something we hear much about. The author seeks to answer the following questions: How can the trials of a believer in Christ be treated as a stewardship? What if there is a lot more to the trial than we see on the surface? What if trials are in reality disguised gifts from the Father? What if trials are one of the avenues God uses to display His glory through the lives of His children? What if trials produce stewardship rewards for the believer who endures them faithfully?
This book takes dead aim at trials as a stewardship and argues that when trials are managed as God's property given to us, we find trials to be a blessing - not a blight

ENGLISH DESCRIPTIONNow a #1 international bestseller, BILLION DOLLAR WHALE is an epic tale of white-collar crime on a global scale (Publishers Weekly, starred review), revealing how a young social climber from Malaysia pulled off one of the biggest heists in history.
In 2009, a chubby, mild-mannered graduate of the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business named Jho Low set in motion a fraud of unprecedented gall and magnitude--one that would come to symbolize the next great threat to the global financial system. Over a decade, Low, with the aid of Goldman Sachs and others, siphoned billions of dollars from an investment fund--right under the nose of global financial industry watchdogs. Low used the money to finance elections, purchase luxury real estate, throw champagne-drenched parties, and even to finance Hollywood films like The Wolf of Wall Street.
By early 2019, with his yacht and private jet reportedly seized by authorities and facing criminal charges in Malaysia and in the United States, Low had become an international fugitive, even as the U.S. Department of Justice continued its investigation.
BILLION DOLLAR WHALE has joined the ranks of Liar's Poker, Den of Thieves, and Bad Blood as a classic harrowing parable of hubris and greed in the financial world.
