This book is my first effort in highlighting some of the general issues in population and health. This book is divided into two sections-section 1 is about topics in population while section 2 is about topics in health. I believe that the issues in the population are still basic and that with careful planning and dedication, problems in health and population can be managed and resolved. The first and foremost effort for any country to start with is better governance, work ethics, and better education on health behaviors such as exercising and healthy eating. One can choose not to initiate smoking, drinking, and gambling. Communal riots do not take place unless we want it. Corruption and tax evasion are checked. Better income distribution is possible through income ceilings. Jobs are also created through retirement policies to overcome household poverty. Jobs, unemployment allowances, and pensions improve living standards with price controls. Education is the right of every child. Child labor and human trafficking are violations of human rights. Governments are working on zero tolerance for domestic violence. Organized crimes are checked through better social governance, acts of education, and employment. Businesses enjoy subsidy while universities, hospitals, and research use the funding to execute programs in education, research, and healthcare. Women's education and employment brings women respect and autonomy, which are contributing factors in population control. I hope you enjoy reading the text. -Baljit

Jawaharlal Nehru being an architect of Indian polity, economy and foreign policy set the ball rolling. However, they have witnessed cataclysmic changes over a period of time. Indian polity has witnessed different waves of reorganisation of states, evolving democracy, spelling out of quasi-federal system and building a more inclusive political nation. Nehru set the agenda of economic development and framed the strategy of development accordingly. In this volume an attempt has made to have a fair understanding about Nehru by placing him in the context in which he worked and by taking into account the challenges that Post-Colonial India was facing during his time. However, the problems faced by the neo-liberal economy, and the challenges confronting Indian polity and foreign policy have again invoked the relevance of Nehruvian philosophy in contemporary India. In diesem Artikel werden die Modifikationen von Polysacchariden zur Entwicklung von Hydrogelen für die gezielte Medikamentenverabreichung im Dickdarm sowie die wichtigsten Faktoren, die die Freisetzungsrate der eingekapselten Medikamente aus den Hydrogelen steuern, erörtert. Auch die Rolle einiger Polysaccharide bei der Medikamentenverabreichung im Dickdarm wurde diskutiert.

L'administration systémique de médicaments dans le tractus gastro-intestinal, en particulier dans le côlon, est associée à un certain nombre d'effets secondaires. Il est donc nécessaire de disposer d'un système d'administration de médicaments ciblé pour délivrer le médicament dans le côlon, ce qui permettrait de soulager les effets secondaires grâce à l'administration directe du médicament dans le côlon de manière contrôlée et durable. Un certain nombre de dispositifs d'administration de médicaments et de supports à base de polymères ont été proposés pour une thérapie efficace. Parmi tous ces dispositifs d'administration de médicaments, les hydrogels, en particulier ceux basés sur les polysaccharides, ont attiré une attention considérable en tant qu'excellents candidats pour la libération contrôlée d'agents thérapeutiques. Cet article traite des modifications apportées aux polysaccharides pour développer des hydrogels destinés à des applications d'administration de médicaments ciblés sur le côlon et des principaux facteurs qui contrôlent la vitesse de libération des médicaments encapsulés dans les hydrogels. Le rôle de certains polysaccharides dans les applications d'administration de médicaments au niveau du côlon a également été abordé.

Récemment, la recherche dans le monde entier s'est concentrée sur le développement de systèmes avancés d'administration de médicaments afin d'améliorer leur potentiel thérapeutique et leur sécurité clinique et de réduire les inconvénients associés aux formulations de médicaments conventionnelles. Les hydrogels sont des matériaux extrêmement fiables qui ont été étudiés pour concevoir des systèmes d'administration de médicaments en raison de leur biocompatibilité et de leurs propriétés physicochimiques. Les propriétés inhérentes des hydrogels polymères qui les rendent appropriés pour les applications d'administration de médicaments sont contrôlées par leurs structures de réseau réticulé. Plusieurs théories et équations/modèles mathématiques complexes ont été proposés pour expliquer la structure en réseau des hydrogels. Leurs connaissances approfondies dépassent presque l'expertise des chimistes spécialistes des polymères qui participent à la conception des dispositifs de désensibilisation. Dans le présent document, des simplifications de ces équations ont été effectuées afin de les utiliser pour évaluer les paramètres du réseau nécessaires à la conception d'hydrogels pour les dispositifs DD. L'importance du gonflement de l'hydrogel et sa corrélation avec les divers paramètres synthétiques et physiochimiques, ainsi que leur influence sur les paramètres du réseau structurel des systèmes DD à base d'hydrogel, ont également été analysées.

In jüngster Zeit liegt der Schwerpunkt der Forschung weltweit auf der Entwicklung fortschrittlicher Systeme zur Verabreichung von Arzneimitteln, um deren therapeutisches Potenzial und klinische Sicherheit zu verbessern und die mit herkömmlichen Arzneimittelformulierungen verbundenen Nachteile zu verringern. Hydrogele sind äu erst zuverlässige Materialien, die aufgrund ihrer Biokompatibilität und ihrer physikalisch-chemischen Eigenschaften für die Entwicklung von Medikamentenverabreichungssystemen erforscht worden sind. Die inhärenten Eigenschaften von polymeren Hydrogelen, die sie für DD-Anwendungen geeignet machen, werden durch ihre vernetzten Netzwerkstrukturen gesteuert. Es wurden mehrere Theorien und komplexe mathematische Gleichungen/Modelle vorgeschlagen, um die Netzwerkstruktur der Hydrogele zu erklären. Ihr umfangreiches Wissen übersteigt fast das Fachwissen von Polymerchemikern, die an der Entwicklung von DD-Vorrichtungen beteiligt sind. Hier wurden Vereinfachungen dieser Gleichungen vorgenommen, um sie für die Bewertung von Netzwerkparametern zu nutzen, die für die Entwicklung von Hydrogelen für DD-Geräte erforderlich sind. Die Bedeutung der Hydrogelquellung und ihre Korrelation mit den verschiedenen synthetischen und physiochemischen Parametern sowie ihr Einfluss auf die Parameter der strukturellen Vernetzung von DD-Systemen auf Hydrogelbasis wurden ebenfalls analysiert.
