Out of the fullness of the heart, the mouth speaketh, and St. Alphonsu's heart was only filled to the brim with a genuine desire for innocence and purity of heart in all his spiritual children, most especially through devotion to the Blessed Mother. In The Passion and Death of Jesus Christ, St. Alphonsus asks the most important questions Catholics can ask themselves in prayer, especially when we encounter suffering. Saint Alphonsus provides profound and rich reflections, affections, discourses, and meditations on the events surrounding Our Lord's passion and death.
