In Muse: Poems from Early Motherhood, Sarah Graham charts the highs and lows of her entry into the world of parenting. Her poems celebrate new motherhood's tremendous sense of joy, euphoria and love, while also recognising the deep challenges and feelings of displacement that this life-changing experience can evoke. Muse seeks to provide comfort for any parent navigating this new world-to act as a thread of commonality between even the most isolated moments of parenthood, to share in the delights and bliss, and above all, to assure new parents that they are not alone.
A handsome presentation of Scottish artist Sarah Graham's up-close drawings of insects and plants
In her majestic drawings, London-based artist Sarah Graham (born 1973) observes the plant and insect world in close-up, through the prism of a naturalist and a traveler. Graham has been drawing and painting full-time for more than a decade now, making images informed by her knowledge of the unfamiliar and faraway. Her studies of the natural world have the complexity and detail of a Leonardo drawing: rhizomes, bulbs and vividly chromatic large-petaled tropical flowers, visited by the insect and butterfly specimens that she borrows from the Entomology Department of the Natural History Museum, London. She is inspired by the graphic plant imagery of German photographer Karl Blossfeldt, and particularly by the spiky biomorphism of Graham Sutherland's works, which feed her sculptural interpretations in charcoal and graphite. Sutherland is her lodestar, first encountered at Saltwood Castle, home to her godmother Jane Clark and the late Sir Kenneth Clark's superb collection of British modernist painting.

'Crucial reading for us all' - Stylist
An inclusive and empowering manifesto for change in women's healthcare - exploring the systemic and deep rooted sexism within medicine, and offering actionable ways for women to advocate for ourselves and others and get the diagnosis and treatment we need. Have you ever been to a doctor and felt like you were being fobbed off or ignored? Did they belittle or overlook your concerns about your health? Ever been told you're just 'hormonal'? You're not alone. Women make up 51 per cent of the population and are the biggest users of healthcare services - for themselves and as mothers and carers. But all the research shows there are massive gender differences in men and women's healthcare. Our pain and suffering has been disbelieved; we are misdiagnosed, given tranquilisers when we need painkillers, antidepressants when we need HRT, and not trusted to make informed choices about our own bodies. As women speak out about their experiences of gaslighting and misdiagnosis, health journalist Sarah Graham investigates what it will take to bridge the gender health gap. Meet the patients, doctors and campaigners who are standing up and fighting back, and find practical tips on advocating for your own health. Be inspired by stories that will incite and offer hope. You're not alone, you're not going mad, and we believe you.J.D. Salinger's The Catcher in the Rye (1951) is a twentieth-century classic. When two friends team up to write a graphic novel together, they end up embarking on an adventure which takes their lives in an unexpected direction.
Aged 17, Neil and Jamal are best friends who use their combined skills and imagination to create Demon Chaser - a story involving a world of fantasy and magic. The pair's creativity wins them a place on a workshop at a London college and they end up deciding to head to the capital together the following year to continue their education.
Princess Charmer is a young adult fantasy novel set in Britain in the near future where the lines between fiction and reality occasionally become blurred. The world Jamal and Neil live in closely resembles our own but there are additional challenges to face, including meat rationing, restrictions on travel and mass protests over social media and security.
When Neil arrives in London ready to take up his place on his college course, Jamal never arrives and a worried Neil finds himself unable to contact his friend. What he doesn't know is that Jamal's priorities have changed and he is more interested in coming to London to be with a girl he has met online than going to college to complete the course together.
Princess Charmer is an enjoyable blend of fantasy with a coming of age tale of friendship. Will the two of them be reunited and will they ever manage to finish Demon Chaser and bring their graphic novel to a wider audience?
