Now considered a spiritual classic, THE INFINITE WAY and this timeless message have instilled comfort and hope in the hearts of millions who now look inward for long-lasting peace. If human nature continues to push our lives towards a new spiritual horizon, this simple gift will point the way and help each reader discover the Truth.
The Master Speaks is a non-denominational book that will appeal to anyone interested in spiritual healing. It is based on the teachings of Jesus about the principles of spiritual living and spiritual healing, and can serve as a basic text for those interested in Christian mysticism.
Throughout the book, Goldsmith beautifully weaves together Bible references and the spiritual principles that form the Infinite Way message. He takes the reader through a detailed course of instruction around three major steps: attaining the conscious awareness of the presence of God; learning meditation, reflection, and introspection; and learning the nature of error. He says, Unless our thought responds instantly to the fact that God is the only life, that God is all there is to individual being; and unless in our heart and Soul we truly believe that, we cannot be spiritual healers.
The secret to spiritual healing, Goldsmith says, is knowing the true identity of every individual, and this comes through spiritual discernment. A spiritual healer does not deal with the mortal picture and try to change it. We go right to the center of being, and there recognize Christ, the Spirit, the presence and power of God, he says. As we do that, we do not heal human beings; we do not enrich them, although that is the way in which it appears to the world. What we do is to bring to light their spiritual identity-that which has always been there, but which has seemed to have disappeared. But Goldsmith is careful to emphasize: It is not understanding truth that heals: it is the divine state of spiritual consciousness that heals; and the one who has that state of consciousness is a practitioner.
In The Master Speaks, Goldsmith also lays out the differences between traditional metaphysics and The Infinite Way message, and he gives extensive practical advice on many aspects of the healing ministry for those who find themselves led to it. He offers the idea - astonishing to some - that Everyone on earth has, potentially, the same consciousness as Jesus Christ. The question is: are we willing to put in the hours of devotion; are we willing to make the effort required to train ourselves to be conscious of the presence of God, instead of seeking some form in which God is to appear? There is the whole secret. It is up to us If we can rely wholly on the Principle, on Consciousness, we can attain the consciousness of the Christ. For those who are drawn to that quest, The Master Speaks is a substantial first step on the journey.
How, then, are we to know the Truth? Goldsmith makes it clear that 'knowing the truth' does not mean intellectually understanding statements of truth or repeatedly affirming them. Rather, knowing the truth is a deep realization in consciousness that comes through meditation and living the spiritual principles. Only when we have that realization can we experience the spiritual power of Truth. At the core of this realization, he explains, is always the truth that I and the Father are one.
In Spiritual Power of Truth, Goldsmith guides the reader through the terrain of spiritual wisdom on the subject of Truth, including the relationship of Truth and spiritual healing; the meaning of spiritual power and how it has been misinterpreted; the meaning of illusion; and how our knowing the truth can benefit others. Throughout the book, Goldsmith anchors his teaching in the spiritual truths that constitute the message of the Infinite Way: the nature of God, man, prayer, and error.
Finally, ever determined that students will not simply take his word as truth but make it their own, he reminds the reader: There is no way on earth that you are ever going to know that you have learned a lesson of Truth unless you demonstrate it, you prove it to be so.

Practicing the Presence is one of the four foundational books among Joel Goldsmith's Infinite Way writings. Goldsmith recommended that new students begin with this book, together with Living the Infinite Way. Practicing the Presence is a celebrated guide to the awareness of the divine and transcendental in our daily lives. Goldsmith writes that it was during one of his periods of contemplation that the words came to him, Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee. This surprised him, because at that time he was little acquainted with the Bible and only occasionally went to church. But through the study of Scripture and the practice of its teachings, Goldsmith realized that a Presence was with him, counseling, sustaining, and leading him into greater spiritual awareness. Following that realization, he traveled throughout the world, teaching others to know this Presence.
Goldsmith says, Every person who has known dissatisfaction, incompleteness, and frustration will someday learn that there is only one missing link in this entire chain of harmonious living. That is the practice of the presence of God - consciously, daily and hourly, abiding in some great spiritual truth of scripture, and it makes no difference which scripture: Christian, Hebrew, Hindu, Buddhist, Taoist, or Moslem. If we begin with practicing the presence of God, it leads to an inner stillness that makes it possible to meditate. Goldsmith sets forth for the reader how to practice the presence from the moment we awaken to the moment we retire for sleep.
To Goldsmith, harmonious living is all a matter of consciousness. When we have the right consciousness, we do not want things, but we express the very things which formerly we sought. So, instead of a change of circumstances, what the seeker needs is a change of consciousness. Practicing the Presence helps the seeker make that change by opening consciousness to the life by grace. In clear and direct language, Goldsmith shows that by constantly and consciously practicing the presence of God in every experience of our daily life, the struggles of existence pass and harmony is established in every department of our lives. Seek neither health, nor wealth, nor fame, nor fortune, the author writes. Seek first the realization of this inner kingdom and be a beholder as these outer things are added.
The Art of Spiritual Healing is based on Joel Goldsmith's many years of experience in practicing spiritual healing. In a decided departure from other books on the subject, Goldsmith reveals the spiritual principles that are the foundation for spiritual healing. He alternates instruction with meditation to demonstrate his conviction that since physical health is a manifestation of consciousness, physical well-being is a natural result of attaining the consciousness of oneness with God. Complete in scope and non-denominational in approach, The Art of Spiritual Healing is a simple, straightforward explanation of what to many is a mysterious and complex subject. The book is presented in four parts: The Principles, The Role of Treatment, The Practice, and Without Words or Thoughts.
Goldsmith believes that the world needs people who, through devotion to God, are so filled with the Spirit that they can be the instruments through which healings take place. He says, There is not a person reading this book, who should not be ready to accept the responsibility of beginning to heal now. It is not your spirituality or mine that will heal anybody; it is not your understanding or mine that is going to heal. It is God's understanding to which we make ourselves receptive by becoming still.
Together with The Art of Meditation, Living the Infinite Way, and Practicing the Presence, this is a foundational book of the Infinite Way message.
Many books have been written about inward prayer, or meditation, but Joel Goldsmith's classic, The Art of Meditation, presents meditation not as a theory, but as a joyous and rewarding experience. The book begins with these words: Most men and women are convinced that there is a divine Power of some sort operating in human affairs, but they are not sure what it is, nor do they know how to bring this divine Presence and Power into daily experience. In The Art of Meditation, Goldsmith shows the reader the way, and it is through meditation.
Goldsmith says that on the whole, the world has no knowledge of God as the living Power and Presence with Whom we are one. If it did, its anguish, wars, sin, and death would vanish. But, he says, individuals can learn the nature of God and how to contact God. He writes: Christ buried in the tomb of the mind will not come forth and do works, but Christ risen in our consciousness, Christ raised from the tomb through meditation and communion - that is the miracle worker of the ages. The Art of Meditation explains how this inner Presence, also called the Christ, can be realized and can operate in daily life.
While many people pray for the purpose of getting something, Goldsmith explains that we should enter meditation without ulterior motive: Any meditation that has within itself a single trace of a desire to get something from God or to acquire something through God is no longer meditation. He presents meditation as a turning within and listening. At some moment in that quietude, when human thought is stilled and the noise of human living is hushed, the God-experience comes in.
The Art of Meditation gives the reader careful instructions about how to undertake the beautiful spiritual practice of daily meditation. Goldsmith says that the purpose of this book is to help students practice the art of meditation by which the Word takes root, so that they come into an actual awareness, an actual consciousness of living in the Spirit. The object is to reach the state of consciousness revealed by Paul: I live yet not I, Christ liveth my life. Then God appears as the wholeness, the abundance, the harmony, the peace, and the joy of our experience.
One of the best known volumes of Goldsmith's work, The Art of Meditation is one of the four foundational books in the Infinite Way teachings.
Living the Infinite Way is one of the four foundational books of the Infinite Way teachings. Joel Goldsmith recommended that new students begin with this book, together with Practicing the Presence. In Living the Infinite Way, Goldsmith awakens the reader to the possibility that the presence of God is within every individual, and that one can live by that Presence and enjoy a more harmonious, loving, and abundant life.
The book focuses largely on the nature of God, for as Goldsmith says, The writings of The Infinite Way contain hundreds of truths, but actually there is only one truth that we must know. This one truth is the nature of God. Take this one thought into meditation: What is God? What is the nature of God? What is the character of God? What are the qualities of God? What is the true God--not the God we were taught to worship as children, or that we ignorantly worship? Try to empty the already too full vessels, because they cannot be filled with the new wine. Even if you are seventy, empty your old misconceptions and be willing to begin all over with the admission that you do not know God or you would be showing forth more of God's grace. Forget all that you have thought or been taught about God and start afresh with this question, 'What is God?'
Goldsmith answers these questions about the nature of God with the letter of truth, explaining that when one does not know the correct letter of truth, it is difficult to acquire the consciousness that leads to the God experience. But, he emphasizes, we must do more than know the letter of truth intellectually. We must consciously realize these truths, and it is the practice of meditation that will lift us to that realization. Goldsmith goes on to give the reader basic instruction in how to meditate and enter the secret sanctuary of inner quiet, where we become aware of the presence of God. Meditation, he says, is the way by which we attain the kingdom of God, and then life is lived by Grace. The ultimate of meditation is a state of complete silence within.
Living the Infinite Way thoughtfully ushers the reader along the first steps in the Infinite Way message, and helps the reader arrive at the truth that That which I am seeking, I already am.
Invisible Supply offers the reader a new perspective on the subject of supply. Goldsmith tells us that while we typically believe that money constitutes our supply and that it comes through material means, this is not so. The Infinite Way principle of supply, Goldsmith says, is that in our oneness with God, we already have all that the Father has because 'I and the Father are one and all that the Father has is mine.' If we individually are experiencing a lack, it is not because of any actual lack. It is because of our inability to make contact with our supply ... The principle of supply is the realization that we already have, even though appearances may not testify to that.
In Invisible Supply, Goldsmith outlines the principles that can not only bring about growth of spiritual consciousness and inner peace, but also provide for material needs. In Goldsmith's words, Supply is infinite and it is omnipresent wherever you may be. Like Moses, we can realize that we do not have to live on yesterday's manna, nor do we have to gather today's manna for tomorrow. The supply is infinite. This realization manifests in our experience as the fulfillment of every need.
Goldsmith guides the reader to see that to realize the infinite nature of supply, we must develop spiritual consciousness, which means coming to the experience of one's true Self. He emphasizes the important role of meditation and practicing the principles in bringing us to the place where we can rely on the Infinite Invisible for all things. Invisible Supply explains the principles of infinite supply in detail not found in any other book.
Joel Goldsmith studied the spiritual literature of the world and he writes, Insofar as I have observed from my study of the spiritual literature of the world, the truth stated in this book has never been fully revealed before, yet it is the absolute basis for true spiritual living. The Thunder of Silence is based on the principle that there is an inner Grace available to all that does not operate through or by physical might or mental powers. Most people are not aware of this Grace, but when It is consciously realized, it will bring into expression everything that is necessary to our unfoldment. But, Goldsmith says, there is a price: this Grace operates only when we are willing to relinquish faith in anything and everything less than God - even faith in the God the world thinks it knows.
In the first part of The Thunder of Silence, Goldsmith presents the vision of this spiritual way of life and invites the reader to come into the awareness of the abiding Presence within. In the second part of the book, he treads confidently into the often puzzling subject of mind, answering the many questions that always surround that topic. The whole secret, says Goldsmith, lies in making the transition from a thinking human mind to a mind at rest in a state of awareness.
In the third part of the book, Goldsmith gives the reader an illumined interpretation of the Sermon on the Mount, which reveals the innermost secrets to attaining the realization of the Presence within. Effortlessly relating the Infinite Way principles to this extraordinary teaching of Jesus, Goldsmith works extensively with its challenging passages and reveals their deep meanings. He shows how practicing these ancient principles can help us to live in the world, but not of it. If we are fed by meditation in the blessed Silence that thunders with Truth, he says, we can live by the grace of God as the Light of the world.
Speaking about The Thunder of Silence, Goldsmith says, It is a radical book. It will blow sky-high concepts of God that have been built up over the centuries. But he cautions: Readers of this book cannot expect that the mere reading of it will enable them to live by its revealed principles. Those who feel a thrill of recognition in their first reading should make this book their constant companion day and night until their materialistic state of consciousness begins to yield. The Thunder of Silence will surely be a great help to spiritual seekers who want to reach that state of consciousness in which they can truthfully say, I live, yet not I, but Christ liveth in me.

Metaphysical Healing is a short work by the healer, mystic, and educator Joel S. Goldsmith. It explores the true nature of self as an infinite spiritual consciousness that brings forth health, peace, and joy.
Goldsmith was born in 1892 in New York City. His experiences as a Marine in World War I, and the great suffering and pain he observed on his business travels led him to ask fundamental questions about humanity and God. He began a course of inquiry, searching for universal truth. As a spiritual scholar, he studied writings from ancient Greek, Sanskrit, and Aramaic cultures.
On a return trip from Europe in the 1920s, Goldsmith developed pneumonia. A Christian Science practitioner who was on board ship with him was able to heal him of this illness. He soon found, after his recovery, that he too had a healing gift. Strangers began to approach him, requesting relief and prayers. While Goldsmith had no religious training, he is said to have healed many of these people.
Still looking for answers to his spiritual questions, he joined the Christian Science Church, where he remained for 16 years. In 1945, he left the church, as he felt that organized religion was a hindrance rather than a help to spiritual growth. After leaving the church, he began to write, espousing his own philosophy on the nature of humanity and God. His pamphlet, Metaphysical Healing, was one of his earlier works.
This short guidebook explains that truth is to be found within, not without. Rather than turning to an external God, Goldsmith proclaims that, The truth is that God is the Mind and Life of the individual. God is the only 'I'. When we understand this, we can transcend the limitations that we have placed on our minds and spirits. Instead, a free-flowing mind can dispel the illusions of illness, hate, and evil. They do not exist. They are mere unrealities accepted as realities, illusion accepted as condition, the misinterpretation of what actually is.
Rather than viewing the outside world as a power that we must struggle with, the truth is that all power is within us. Because that power comes from the infinite source, flowing through us as water flows from a lake into a river, that power is always good.
With correct knowledge of God and the nature of man, Goldsmith believes that we can see what is. When we reject the unreality of illness, we are able to heal ourselves. Whenever you are faced with a problem, he writes, regardless of its nature, seek the solution within your own consciousness. In the quiet and calm of your own mind, let the answer to your problem unfold itself.
Joel Goldsmith's philosophy was later referred to as The Infinite Way, named for his 1948 book of the same name. After its release, people began to seek him out for further education and guidance. A reluctant teacher at first, he found that there were many eager to hear his message. He went on to teach in Boston and California, and later traveled throughout the world delivering lectures.
As he had learned through his experience in the Christian Science Church, Goldsmith was insistent that his teachings never be organized into a formal church-like structure. He felt that this kind of rigidity would obscure the teachings. While there are still many adherents to Goldsmith's philosophies, there is no formal organization or leadership for his followers.
True freedom and lasting peace: is this not the good life that everyone wishes for their loved ones as well as for themselves? Is such a sublime existence even possible in this day and age? Where on earth are we to find liberty and justice for all?
This latest compilation of excerpts from Joel S. Goldsmith's lectures reveals the truth that these qualities of life do not originate in the outer world, but in the consciousness of the individual. Here is an enlightening message of assurance, conviction, and practicality that is both timely and timeless based on Joel's actual experience as a renowned mystic, healer, and teacher of the twentieth century.
In many of his classes over the years, Joel addressed that sacred place in consciousness, where we do indeed come to know and enjoy the realities of freedom and peace from the inside out. Joel called that high state of consciousness Eden, and to dwell at that level of consciousness is to be governed exclusively by grace and ruled completely by spiritual principle in our daily living.
The Government of Eden is an extraordinary collection of Joel's teachings that focus sharply on the nature of that inner realm and on our responsibilities as spiritual citizens in the here-and-now. In this remarkable book, with clarity and authority, Joel details a spiritual approach to national and international affairs, governing, voting, politics, equality, tolerance, and other crucial issues that confront us on a regular basis. Throughout this work, Joel is not only calling us back to the garden of freedom and fulfillment within, but also guiding us to and through the gates of Eden, which have never been locked - except in belief. The Government of Eden, however, dispels that erroneous belief with the truth that sets us free in the face of every worldly challenge.

In this essay, the author uses the Twenty-Third Psalm to unlock the mystery and meaning of true prayer. In this message which came through inspiration, Goldsmith writes, Here is a form of prayer that harmonizes most beautifully with the message of The Infinite Way and its idea of prayer. He goes through the Psalm--the Lord is my shepherd--verse by verse and brings each into the light of new understanding. This volume provides much more than instruction and guidance about Prayer; the final pages express the poetic reality of life lived in communion with the Divine.
For twelve years Joel Goldsmith had been searching for the way to live a truly spiritual life without retreating from the world, often feeling on the verge of discovery, but always finding it quietly elusive. The quest continued, and one morning, as he awakened on the island of Maui, the secret revealed itself in a flood of gradual unfoldments. The result of this spiritual discovery is Living Between Two Worlds.
This book shows us how to live a more fulfilling and spiritual life at home and at work, without neglecting daily responsibilities. It portrays a way of life that leads us from the world of material sense in which we give power to persons, things, and conditions, to the world of spiritual awareness, where we realize God as the only power and experience the peace and contentment of the inner kingdom.
Goldsmith found that the key is understanding the kingdom of God which, as he writes, does not deal with something separate and apart from living. The kingdom of God concerns itself with our daily life. It is not meant to take us out of the world, but rather to leave us in the world, separate and apart from its negative aspects. But how is this to be done in the world of our everyday experience - a world of conflict, illness, petty concerns, and greed? What attitude should we take toward the world of materiality that surrounds and envelops us? Answers to these vital questions are given in Living Between Two Worlds. This is a book for those who would learn to walk the narrow path which leads to the experience of the Christ within and makes us heirs to the kingdom of God.

The theme of Conscious Union with God is: My conscious union with God constitutes my oneness with all spiritual being and idea. When we reach the place in meditation where we become consciously one with our inner Being, we are automatically one with the entire spiritual universe - the universe of the past, the present, and the future. In developing this theme, Goldsmith reveals that when we have a realization of this principle, whatever is essential to individual unfoldment and fulfillment will appear in the form necessary to meet the need of the moment. Living from this state of consciousness eliminates the ceaseless struggling and striving that characterizes today's society, and brings harmony, joy, peace and fulfillment to our lives.
Conscious Union with God presents key points of the Infinite Way teaching about subjects such as states and stages of consciousness, meditation, seeking answers within, opening consciousness to Truth, mysticism, and the function of the mind. With clarity and deep insight, Goldsmith brings the reader to the awareness that the purpose of conscious union with God is the unfoldment and revelation of spiritual Being, the harmonious and eternal manifestation of God.
In describing A Parenthesis in Eternity, Goldsmith said, In many classes I have touched upon mysticism to prepare our students for the unfoldment of the real meaning and function of the Infinite Way. Now, in the book, A Parenthesis in Eternity, my entire inner life is disclosed: my reason for living and my mission. The autobiography of my personal life would be boring: uneventful school days, routine business experience, and then out of the blue sky, a spiritual experience. This book is my spiritual life as many of you have seen it from the outside, but here explained from the inside.
A Parenthesis in Eternity is a compelling, comprehensive presentation of the mystical journey that Goldsmith experienced. In Part 1, he lays out the principles that form the basis of mysticism, explaining that at its core is the truth that there is an inner, divine spiritual Self, a manifestation of God, which is our true identity. In Part 2, Goldsmith explains that as humans, we live in a parenthesis of the seeming boundaries of birth and death, as well as in mental and material limitation. The purpose of the spiritual path, he says is to wipe out this parenthesis and bring us to the mystical experience of conscious union with God. With deep knowledge born of experience, Goldsmith describes the path we must travel to attain that goal, fully explaining the three stages, or degrees of spiritual unfoldment.
In Part 3, Goldsmith elaborates on the nature and quality of the mystical life, emphasizing that this fourth dimensional consciousness is practical, for it is the secret of an harmonious, abundant life, free from fear and discord.
All spiritual seekers will find A Parenthesis in Eternity to be an engaging, enlightening gift from one of the leading spiritual teachers of the 20th century.
