Threads is the first collection from Nathan Evans, each poem complemented by a bespoke photograph from Justin David and, like Tenniel's illustrations for Carroll, picture and word weft and warp to create an alchemic (rabbit) whole.

I Love You is a call to action for black men to step up and affirm black boys. Black boys are often labeled with degrading titles or dismissed and ignored by society. The reality is that they long for validation, guidance, and love from black men even if they don't verbally express it.

I Love You is many of the resources the author created that aims to do just that, validate our black boys. In Nathan's experience, he has come to the conclusion that if black men aren't intentionally empowering black boys, by investing in them, then we may accidentally lose them to this already frigid world.

By changing what we normalize and creating an atmosphere of L.O.V.E., psychologically as a collective we can positively shape the minds of black boys and even save their lives.

This is the true story of Yuki, a Japanese Chin, and Bonnie Jae Dane, a fifty-something woman, who is struggling to find her own place in life and Spirit. As the story unfolds, we learn, along with Dane, of Yuki's remarkable abilities. These include drawing other animals to him and giving comfort and healing. We also learn of Yuki's passionate quest to find his own Spiritual Teacher and to advance his spiritual knowledge and purpose in this lifetime. An animal communicator helps Dane understand the extent of her dog's gifts and his own need for a 'special purpose' and to be seen as 'sweet and precious with a heart of gold'. Their conversations prove to be an illuminating look into a dog's spiritual life and his need to continue his own journey toward enlightenment. Through Dane's narrative and the lessons she learns from Yuki, we also see what it's like to be a bright, witty, perceptive, and irreverent seeker of spiritual meaning in contemporary America.

Ironic wit is the tightrope that enables Bonnie Jae Dane to balance between anger and sentimentality as her language intoxicated young narrator-who is a real charmer-tells us about her struggle to survive the daily trauma of the inner city, to express her love of her mama, and to imagine the wildflowers that might grow if only given a chance. It eloquently tells the story of a teenager whose life is fraught with the damaging effects of bullying, which causes her to seek comfort in her imagined life of flowers making the world a better place.
