The study of planetary cycles, passages and returns immerses us in the question and mystery of time. A horoscope ensouls time - inviting us to imagine and animate it with the spirit of each moment.
While astrological timing may be complex and multi-dimensional, with practice we can learn to read and discern its archetypal images to give meaning to life experiences and events.
Astrological Time: Seasons of the Soul is a guidebook exploring planetary cycles and the mysteries of time. It reveals how astrological symbols, techniques and transitions can evoke ways of understanding the nature of time and encourage us to participate in its personal and collective seasons.
Relationship astrology - synastry - is not just an exploration of compatibility and possibility; it calls us to honour the mystery and soul of our attachments - not for what we want them to be, but for how they truly are.
By its very nature, relationship is inevitable. Embedded in every human being is an instinct to respond and attach, to embrace the desire and urge to relate. As an integral human pattern, relationship is an aspect of every individual's future, shaped by the familial, ancestral and cultural atmosphere of the times in which they live; consequently, relationship is a central motif woven into each individual horoscope.
When two souls form a relationship with one another, so do their horoscopes. The quest to understand the heart of relationship inspires this volume. From the Moment We Met offers a guide through the labyrinth of astrological symbols and images towards a clearer understanding and acceptance of your adult relationships.
Astrology is so much more than a predictive and prescriptive typology. It is a soulful and evocative tradition that engages us in both rational and imaginal ways of knowing. Each horoscope is an invitation to consider the gods that live through us and the archetypal powers that pave our path through life. In Soul, Symbol and Imagination, Brian Clark shares his experiences of astrology as a profoundly therapeutic, divinatory and spiritual modality that has shaped his life.
Oak Tree Alchemy, the title of this poetry collection brought to you by twelve members of The Poetry Society's North Yorkshire group, has a more literal than literary derivation.
The poets meet, read and discuss their work once a month at The Oak Tree Inn, Helperby, a village between Boroughbridge and Easingwold. Their readings and discussions inspire them to write more and better poetry, with all its transformative powers. And they are confident that you will find some gold in the following pages.
The Poetry Society's local groups throughout the UK and elsewhere in Europe are known as Stanzas, and there are almost 100 of them. The North Yorkshire Stanza was formed three years ago and its members range from new writers to published and prize-winning poets. Some members travel up to 50 miles to its meetings, sometimes staying overnight.
A major contribution to the Stanza's popularity must be the luxurious private meeting facility provided by The Oak Tree. The book's title justly reflects this and we are grateful for their continuing support. Nor would we, and hopefully you, be enjoying our first venture into print were it not for the encouragement and skills of my co-editor, Ian Gouge, who first proposed this project and has several poetry books to his own name.
